Why is the media more excited about Kamala Harris than the average Democrat? Watching the cringeworthy coverage of the NYT, CNN and the others, shows you don’t need character or even ideas, as long as you’re “historic” and “groundbreaking”.

There are many classical liberals who would vote for a credible Democratic candidate if there were such a candidate.

Where are the leaders? This isn’t just an American thing. The Conservative Party of Canada is having a leadership race and no cares. No one is stepping up on either side. Is politics just too toxic now for the peop,e who would make great leaders?
the left feeds on symbolism and lives behind a facade of altruistic sounding yet meaningless words. Harris, Obama, Clinton, Sanders...NONE of them ever had an original thought or idea - EVER.
They offer nothing new - everything they say and do has been said and done before.
Harris is the perfect avatar of leftist ideologies. Superficially she represents a "breakthrough" - A changing of the guard in a manner of speaking.
She is female! She is of dark skinned ethnic heritage! She doesn't need to have any depth - her superficiality is the leftist selling point.

The meaningless words and lack of originality sum up the whole convention. What I saw was completely lacking any substance beyond “We’re not Trump.”
There wasn’t even an attempt to critique the administration on specific policy. Instead we were served up the same old stew of slogans and sound bites: the wall, kids in cages, tiki torches, good people on both sides, voter suppression, racism, danger to democracy, the most important election ever, along with the usual refrains of the fair share, and repetitions of ‘for our children, and our children’s children.’
I just don’t understand how half the country swallows this stuff whole, and manages not to gag.
Ground breaking? I suppose in a way it is, as only a few months ago she was lambasting sleepy Joe.

She shredded Joe — maliciously — as a racist. The charge was ridiculous; but it did show Kamala is ready to play the race card anytime it suits her, regardless of the hurt and division she knows it will cause.
Exactly, she is a lawyer. She has the ability to speak out of both sides of her mouth. If you go back and look at her statement about believing Joe Biden's accuser there's some wiggle room. She might become the left's Sarah Palin if the election doesn't work out. What ever happens she will certainly reinvent herself.
