Yeah... yeah... but it seems to me like it's only gonna be Big Platform World, and the rest is gonna be trash. Kinda like a third world country. But what are you gonna do? I hope at least people stop being sheep and at least bother themselves opening up to decentralized platforms. Not holding my breath though. It's so funny how it progressed. There should be some study on how the internet world has evolved and where it's going. I think it can say so much about us as a species.

@solopro I get where you're coming from, but that seems to me like saying we can't help each other. I know personally can't do much, but we most certainly can influence each other. I don't see why not. But yeah... I realize what it sounds like... Sigh...

@A1fredo thats a weird take away, of course people can help each other, but they won't. thats why we are in the messes we are in. you can romanticise the whole world holding hands and singing and world peace and ending hunger and all you want, until it happens, help the handful of people you can help with whatever advice/ resources you can muster, encourage others to do the same when you can, and then accept that the rest is out of your hands.

@solopro If you think of yourself as an individual I guess. If you see the world through the perspective of the species, you couldn't help to get depressed because of how stupid you are by hurting yourself so much. Ant certainly got that one better than we do.

@solopro They're not mutually exclusive. I am an individual and a part of a species. Our conscious mindsuse only a little part of our brains processing power. Perhaps there's a part of our subconscious that is dedicated to a collective one. I don't necessarily believe so, but I do believe that thinking about us in that way is the best way to go because of pragmatism. There's an evolutional reason for our empathy, and I think we undermine it. We know by now that we can be more efficient together. Capitalism, division of labor. We just need to go a step beyond that and realize how good could it be if we thought of ourselves as the same species and honor that as we do our individual person, you think now?

@A1fredo yeah that's never going to happen. the kind of collectivism you're describing isn't a choice or an attitude, its a nature. no human is so specialized they have a collective role to play. because of this, no human can escape their individuality. its just not possible. you don't have to focus so heavily on it that you never concern yourself with others, but its a choice people often make and there's nothing anyone can do about it other than that specific person.
