BUYER’S REMORSE
This just in from the GOSH, WHO SAW THAT COMING BUREAU—the Minneapolis City Council, who recently voted to abolish the police department, held a work session on Tuesday, during which they expressed concern at the spike in the crime rate and asked Chief Medaris Arrandondo “Where are the police?” Rumors that the chief collapsed in a fit of hysterical laughter that continued long after he was escorted from the room could not be confirmed.
Welcome to the fantasy world of the woke left, whose favorite response to every disaster they create is always, “That’s not what we intended.” But that’s what happens when intentions are divorced from any appreciation of potential results. Furthermore, when those intentions are driven by ideological principles that have never produced anything but misery and failure, “BUT WE MEANT WELL,” comes off as a pretty piss-poor explanation.
Just to be clear: the council members who virtue signaled their way to defunding the police neither regret their choice, nor do they take any responsibility for what is happening now. It’s their constituents who are complaining, and lacking the totalitarian state apparatus they lie awake at night dreaming about, these would-be Stalins still have to pretend they care about the people they’re supposed to represent and serve. That’s the trouble with voters—they tend to take their vote seriously and think they have a voice.
Just like those Deplorables who voted for Trump.

He suggested the focus should instead be on using money taken from the police budget to hire “violence interrupters” and put them in place to prevent crime in the first place."
I'm just waiting to see their program to send social workers on Domestic Violence calls works out. And how many bodies pile up before they realize "violence interrupters" need badges and guns.
