But how ‘Supremacy’ is derived from ‘Exceptionalism’ can only be attempted denigration. That’s like saying your favorite flavor of ice cream is best – is it really? But I ramble needlessly. 20.09.28.0010M MASCULINITY IS CREATIVITY: I quickly received the below critical comment concerning a post about George Girshwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” composition. Wherein I described it as an example of American Exceptionalism. Everyone has an opinion & this is good. My personal opinion is that the reason “Rhapsody in Blue” is difficult to absorb as exceptional is (as is my personal opinion) that Girshwin quite literally created an image using sound instead of paint. He painted a picture with sound. The sound of the wheels of American industry turning & the bustle of American big city life. If one expected a picture a tranquil pasture scene they’d be highly disappointed. Now, again that’s my personal opinion & not taking away from anyone else’s opinion. The best & only real judge is you the individual listener. It’s a sound picture of that sleeping giant some Japanese where afraid of waking up.
But I ramble, listen for yourself.
