Of course, currently there is the normal election year leftist crime wave, which they call peaceful protests (almost exclusively in Democrat-run areas, btw), exacerbated by a generous serving of TDS - but my initial comment describes the normal generalized pattern.

Everyone knows. When any effort is made toward the solution of most crime, "Police State" is headlines. A Less liberal attitude toward all rule breaking makes a real difference, but that is "Nazi". We put up with more and more lawlessness, because we do not want to hurt feelings, and politicians want to get reelected! Heather Mac Donald wrote some very good books on the subject. Fivethirtyeight would not accept her detailed findings, because they are comfy in the world of "we are the good ones". Like the Citizens of Portland. I lived in the State that watched the slow devolution of Detroit! It will never come back!

Any sane person knows that over a quarter century of Rap Black Gangsta Rap made a crime wave in this country and the world the like that has never been seen before. Then they have the gall to blame cops???
