I read Helen Pluckrose's letter proposing a vote for Biden would give a better chance at dealing with the illiberal left. She has a very different view than James Lindsay (who co wrote "Cynical Theories" with her). While I do see some of her reasoning about it, (if someone who leans more liberally to begin with, probably would regardless of extremist groups), I think she is wrong if the goal is to end critical race theory and other racist equity programs.

The reality is that both sides have been drawing more extremism on both sides. It's just a fact. Many Democrats are fearful of Republicans and vice versa. This includes even more "average" Americans. Whether it be a BLM sign, or waving a thin blue line American flag, both look "evil" to a lot of people who oppose them.

I agree that MSM has created a lot of the distrust and tribalism that's going on. Everytime I hear CNN say "Trump is dog whistling his base", I automatically assume Antifa must be Bidens base, which is exactly what they do say on FOX. I rarely understand how they reach such definitive conclusions based on biased speculation.

Trump tweeted "Liberate Michigan". CNN says that was a dog whistle to Trumps base of white supremacist followers to kidnap Gov Whitmer. Trump is seen saying "Lock her up", ergo that cements these speculative claims, and therefore must be real. This is, what they would call back in the old days, "tabloid journalism". I expect to next see a headline of Melania Trumps secret Alien child who is giving extraterrestrial knowledge to help the "Space Force" program.

Still, if they want to play the trashy news game, how bout Whitmers 86 45 "decoration"? Or Biden and Harris calling cops "murderers"? I'm sure I can pick out a lot of leftist dog whistles that I then can broadly speculate was the reasoning behind the shootings and deaths of cops and Trump supporters. While we're at it, how bout Q and 4chan, and the ironic validation given to groups CNN deems "conspiracy theories" and yet insists that Trump is in support of as an iron clad fact without any proof.

Yeah, I'd rather go with 4 more years of Trump than be a part of whatever the Democratic party has become. They aren't helping. MSM is worse, but I'm done with political leaders backing up MSM bias more than the actual sensationalism MSM keeps peddling.
