We in Australia are not locking back down.
We have o/s and Interstate travel restrictions but there is no total lockdown.
SA had a 6 day lockdown due to a new cluster outbreak that they stopped after 3 days of contact tracing.

Where in Australia. Is every province the same?

@Krunoslav we don't have Provinces... we have local, state and federal governments.
Only state and federal have health responsibilities in an epidemic or pandemic.
States can order lockdowns South Australia is a state it had a 3 day lockdown till it knew exactly where the problem existed...
No other states are in total lockdown, some have varying restrictions most have no infections or deaths on a daily basis.
People are asked to wear masks where appropriate, and to social distance.

@Lightman This is the image I had in my mind. Forgot the name of the territories, but I'll post the map here.

Any info on this?

Avi Yemini attended an anti-lockdown Freedom March in Melbourne, Australia this weekend, only to be detained by police in the midst of covering the event.

South Australia and Adelaide Covid lockdown rules and coronavirus restrictions explained

SA premier Steven Marshall announces six-day lockdown for entire state amid Covid-19 outbreak and more cases in Parafield cluster. Here’s what you need to know

The South Australian premier, Steven Marshall, has announced the early end of a planned six-day lockdown after one male who tested positive for Covid-19 had misled contact tracers.

The stay at home order currently in place for the state will come to an end at midnight on Saturday, Marshall announced, but some restrictions would remain in place to give contact tracers breathing room, until 1 December when the border between South Australia and Victoria was due to reopen.

“I will not let the disgraceful conduct of a single individual to keep SA in these circuit breaker conditions one day longer than what is necessary,” he said.

Until 11.59pm on Saturday, the following restrictions apply across the state:

No one in the state is allowed to leave their homes for, other than for essential reasons.

All schools are shut, with only vulnerable children and children of essential workers given exclusions.

Childcare is closed, but children of essential workers are excluded.

Takeaway food shops are shut.

Universities are shut.

Restaurants, cafes, pubs, food courts and other food venues are closed.

Weddings and funerals are banned.

Elective surgeries are halted, with exceptions made for urgent operations.

Home inspections and auctions are halted.

People are not allowed to travel within the state, including to holiday homes.

Schoolies has been cancelled.

Aged care and residential disability care facilities are in lockdown.

Factories are closed, with exceptions made for food and medical products and essential maintenance.

The construction industry must shut down for the duration of the lockdown.

People are advised to wear face masks when they leave their homes, although it is encouraged not mandatory.

Families with joint custody arrangements have been asked to find an arrangement that works for the next six days, without moving between houses.

The essential reasons for leaving home are:

To go to work as an emergency services worker or to work providing essential services.

For exercise, which can be in household groups

For agricultural work.

To receive medical care including seeking Covid-19 testing.

To obtain medical supplies.

One person from the household once a day to attend supermarkets to obtain essential supplies.

Organised end of life visits.

In an emergency situation.

The following remain open:

Supermarkets, but only one person per household will be allowed to shop a day.

Critical infrastructure, such as power and telecommunications.

Medical services, including mental health services.

Public transport will continue to run.

The post office and financial institutions.

The airport will remain open, and freight services will continue to operate.

Petrol stations.

Mining, smelting, and large factories will be allowed to continue to operate at a level required to ensure continuity of service delivery or to prevent damage, but not for anything else.

Agriculture workers will be able to move around, but only to ensure the safety and welfare of animals and animal products.

Veterinary surgeons will remain open.

From 11.59pm on Saturday, the stay at home order is rescinded, and restrictions revert back to what they were on 16 November, including:

A one person per four square metres rule for venues

Hospitality limited to 100 people, and 10 people per table booking, and people must sit to eat and drink.

Funerals allowed to have 50 people.

Weddings up to 150 people, but no dancing, and people must sit to eat and drink.

Religious ceremonies limited to 100 people.

Private gatherings limited to 50 people.

A maximum of 10 people in homes.

Personal care providers such as hairdressers and beauty therapists will be required to wear masks, and patrons will strongly be encouraged to wear masks at the same time.

Gyms will re-open.

Schools re-open on Monday, 23 November.

@Krunoslav yeah...
1/that media guy is an idiot and I used media loosely.
2/There was 1 protest and I'd hardly call that reflective of the population and there was a 2nd protest with hardly anyone there and most people were arrested.
3/Since Victorian the state government failed quarantine led to a 2nd wave I understand their impatience with the extended lockdown in Melbourne.

Oh and as I stated SA went into lockdown for 6 days 3 days ago and it only lasted 3 days then was lifted. No lockdown now.

@Krunoslav Welcome to live coverage of Australia’s response to the continuing coronavirus pandemic. South Australia’s lockdown will end early, after it is revealed the decision was based on a lie from a pizza store employee to contact tracers. And an everyday arthritis drug has been found to be effective in treating COVID-19 patients in a landmark international study.

@Lightman Fair enough. And LOL.

Lock downs are not the solution to corona virus and various governments really love those. That by itself its a serious problem.

@Krunoslav Then please explain the success it had in Victoria on wave 2.
Conspiracy theories in democratic countries don't wash. Not here at least.

@Lightman Well, what do you call success? Success at temporally containing virus that is not deadly to most people , but lock downs are far more and potentially deadly to economy, well being of many people. And why is lockdown even done? There are other methods. And why are people who recovered lock down , why aren't they allowed to work? And why are protesters of climate change allowed but not protesters against lock downs allowed to protest? Why aren't some governments working on other solutions? Why are people being treated as prisoners , that is where the term lockdown comes from by the way, and not like citizens that have autonomy and are part of society? What about reports of tests not really being accurate. What happened to flu ? Is flu gone or is it being counted as covid-19? BTW what is covid-19? Why are alternative suggestions of testing, or treatment being censured online, ignored and why are governments around the world acting like tyrants? Not all but some do. So why are some acting like tyrants if there are alternatives?

So how do you define success? If there is a fly in the house and you dynamite the whole house, you might have success at killing a fly, but at what cost?

Have you seen how Japan appraoched Corona virus. Not by top down draconian lock downs but by providing support to local communicates that took care of it themselves. Whit cooperation and support. So clearly , the lock downs are not the only way and there is not only a different way but a better way. So why is that not being tried?

Lockdowns are what you do in prisons when one violent inmate stabs another in prison cafeteria. you don't do it in a liberal democratic society for a virus that we know is not equally dangers to all people . its just tyranny. I'm surprised you are defending it.

@Krunoslav We are doing fine thanks.
The economy is bouncing back and now all states have no lockdowns.
Most do not and have not been completely locked down at any time, except Victoria.
We are controlling the virus, it is not controlling us.

Japan
Coronavirus Cases:
127,665
Deaths:

@Lightman With proper use of statistics you can disprove gravity. It does not tell a whole story. But I suppose you made up your mind. I don't think we agree on the lockdown idea. As a measure implemented worldwide.

Why is lockdown ordered in the first place? What is the justification for it? To spread the virus? that tells us nothing? How and what virus? And is the cost benefit scenario, and what are the alternatives. Why are everyone locked down when not everyone is equally at risk. You sound like you are echoing MSM and governments propaganda. No critical thinking involved.

Can you measure the damage from lock downs, with statistics , especially those you listed. No. The numbers you listed also don't really tell a story, about anything important. Who is at risk? Why does the lockdown apply to everyone? Who committed suicide, who did not get a treatment for other mental and bodily health problems. You don't measure domestic violence, people who lost jobs or business that lost work. Economy is recovering is not a useful term since it does not tell you much about who , what , where , when , how? The debt people had to take on for various reasons, including paying bills, keeping their business running etc. What about stimulus and debt verious goverments took on? Is that also good for economy? I don't think so.

Who got the money? Everyone who really needed it ? I don't think so. What about various politicians who don't follow rules they force on others? What about what I already mentioned about letting lefty protests go but not the other side? What about alternative treatments, alternative ways of fighting spreading etc.

Until you can provide answers to that of any merit, you sound just like MSM.

@Krunoslav I live here you do not... move here then try arguing from a point of actual experience and knowledge.

@Lightman You haven't really answered or addressed anything I've mentioned. I remain unconvinced in your position.

@Krunoslav I keep telling you the truth you keep denying it... please stop wasting my time

@Lightman You are not telling me the truth, you are telling me what you believe in. It just might be that that is not the same thing.

1

Well, we can't have protester's protesting our protests now can we... I might just have to write a stern letter or sign a petition. (I will have to wash my mask, though)
