Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I must admit, I don't know enough about the Snowden and Assange cases to really have an opinion on whether they specifically should be pardoned, but I believe Tulsi Gabbard is pretty sane and reasonable for a Democrat... Something tells me, though, that many other Democrats would encourage very different treatment towards these men than they would for other "whistle-blowers" like, say, Eric Ciaramella!

Nah.... as for Assange... he's a narcissist with an ego that just won't quit.
Doesn't he have to be found guilty of something before he can be pardoned?

FWIW, according to the Washington Post, a President (unlike some others with pardon powers) can pardon someone for anything they have done in the past, even if there has been no conviction.
@DaveO276 well I actually heard real legal advice from a current lawyer yesterday who simply stated you cannot be pardoned for something you haven't been convicted of doing. But it is usual after a conviction and charges have been laid.
But taking what you said on Board I checked...
A Presidential Pardon does have limitations but can be issued before or after conviction.
A federal pardon can be issued prior to the start of a legal case or inquiry, prior to any indictments being issued, for unspecified offenses, and prior to or after a conviction for a federal crime.
