I have no problem with someone declaring an organization to be criminal based on something that happened in another country; the U.S has done that plenty of times for organizations in the Middle East that never did anything in the U.S.
What I have a problem with is declaring them a terrorist organization for the generic asshattery that happened during the Capitol Riots, because it supports the ridiculous narrative that the Capitol Riots were an attempted coup instead of thousands of people who were demanding accountability in the election process, joined by a couple dozen whackadoodles who did things they shouldn't have.
This is a standard tactic in the Democrat playbook, to associate everyone on the political Right with the worst of their constituency, while anyone who's fringe on the political Left is just an outlier. For example, equating all Republicans to Marjorie Taylor Greene - who I will say is a genuine whackadoodle - whereas Ilhan Omar - who is openly anti-Semetic - gets a complete pass from criticism.
Or just another example of the complete set of double-standards that the Left refuses to acknowledge.
