Another State Is Attempting To Make It Legal To Hit Protesters With A Car
Remeber when this was the sort of thing ISIS did, now states want to make it legal to plough down "protestors" with a car.
I'm sure you'd all LOVE to run down BLM or Antifa with a car eh?

It is called anarchy and it is the devolution of the possibility of civilization. All laws are arbitrary red lines because justice is abstract. It is necessarily subjective. The standard in law is what a reasonable person would believe if that mythical creature existed. No reasonable person should expect their to be no consequences for threats of violence.

"If a person attempts to flee in a motor vehicle from an unlawful or riotous assemblage, such person shall not be criminally or civilly liable for any deaths or injuries to any individual participating in the unlawful or riotous assemblage that may result if the person reasonably believes he or she or any occupant of the motor vehicle is in danger." - this is the full legal text for the Missouri law. The only reason not to include this text (or a link) in an article like this is to purposely confuse the simple minded in support of partisans with blinders on.
Actual discussions would include - when is an assemblage considered unlawful or riotous? What is reasonably believes occupants are in danger? What if you are lawfully protesting while others are illegally protesting and you are the one hit? Do we really need this law when people are acting in self defense (isn't that already protected)?

In Tennessee the proposed change is protection from civil action, and existing law would already protect against criminal prosecution depending on circumstance. Like, the times we've seen cars surrounded by "protesters" in the street pounding and causing a threat to the driver and passengers--that would be considered a defense toward acquittal should charges arise. Current law might allow the mob to sue the drivers for damages and the change would negate such claims.
Would be nice to watch your face as your options ran through your mind, while being surrounded by "peaceful protesters" trying to break out the windows and pull you out of the car.
