@Poncho69 if you had any knowledge of mental health issues (idk, maybe you do, but what's your experience then? Not having a go, but genuine question), then you could probably agree that sometimes medication being mandatory ( and in the case of mental health, it has to go through court hearings specific to the individual case) is actually beneficial in some cases. It's not perfect but look into schizophrenia and you realise why sometimes mandatory is required. Vaccines and other meds are a completely different issues that shouldn't be lumped in the same argument

@Tom81 Funny that. You brought up medicine for mental health. I prefer cognitive therapy. Cuddle therapy. But a pill is a cheap and nasty alternative

Cognitive therapy is a long term solution that should be part of all mental health therapy, but there's a difference between short and long term (acuity). The best solution is medication in the acute phase, cognitive therapy for the long stretch. And again - what's your actual experience? Your approach seems like : "yes their arm is broken, but instead of a cast lets just do some physio to make up for future deficiencies caused by the problem".
Everything has it's time and place. It's not all about a magic pill solution, but utilising different tools at different times to reach an optimum solution.

@Tom81 the average schizophrenia patients has 18 medications before finding a useful one. Then they don't last. You think medicine is the only way. It is the drug dealer doctors way. Have you read the side affects of these medications they include suicide

@Poncho69 I don't think medication is the solution, but can definitely be a big part of it, at least in the acute phase. I don't jump to extremes, and definitely see how the health/pharma industry is flawed. Still, I'm no medical Luddite.
Stop trying to polarize the issue. It's not a matter of meds being a cure-all or the other extreme of seeing no benefits in meds. Balance, look it up.
Mental health is particularly complex. Pharma can play a part, but is not the 'be all-end all' of the solution. Discounting the chemical solution is on par with discounting the spiritual - the best solution is to tailor therapy individually based on both.

@Tom81 I am just for freedom. Let people choice. Natural or alternatives. Not legislation.

@Poncho69 I get it and totally agree. Still, should we agree to children making adult choices? Should we let a drunk driver do their thing because they feel they can make it? If I'm drunk, or affected by drugs should I be able to drive/work/make important decisions? Same thing with mental health.
The whole point is - big difference between mental and physical (even though the two crossover). Start seeing the grey between the b&w.
I'm all for freedom too, but at some point...

@Tom81 well a few things about drink driving if so bad can't stay in lanes yes bust them but just going over .05 is not bad. But if they crash or hurt someone punish them. If government serious about saving lives then fix the roads. Don't blame the road user

@Poncho69 yeah, we could probably argue every point infinitivly, no matter the issue. We could agree on some and disagree on others - point is, there's not always a b/w viewpoint ( but somewhere you have to draw the line).
Yeah, totally all for personal freedom - but minors are a different kettle of fish, as is mental health... And even childhood vaccines are a contentious issue, have seen both sides first hand - and won't discount the arguments on both sides.
But covid is also a different situation that shouldn't be lumped with others.
