The legal system breeds criminals

If you have been through family court and had your children taken from you or given 4 days a month to "visit" your own children (which is standard in Alberta Family Court), you would understand how a man could be driven to such a thing

@BubbaLouie an absurd and indefensible position. BTW I have been through family court - it isn't fair. I know that but there simply is no defense for the man who did this.

@iThink 44% of people sent to jail return to jail within 2 years. 80% sent to jail for minor reasons end up committing a major crime. So it is self fulfilling system. Once in the system the don't let go

@Poncho69 laws are used to ensure the general welfare and keep the peace. lawbreakers go to prison - hopefully for a very long time.
If you don't like living within a "lawful" society then go someplace where the only law is the law of the jungle - survival of the fittest. Get yourself robbed, raped, stabbed, murdered - you might as well not holler or scream because there will only be one person there who cares - YOU as you lie dying in a puddle of your own blood and vomit.

@iThink Well that is the problem. I get picked on by people much smaller than me and police believe lies and I have to defend against anonymous lies. You need to get real. Police come in cause trouble leave and everything is worse. They break everything and fix nothing

@Poncho69 I once knew a guy (a fellow employee from way back in the late 70s) said the very same thing that you just said.

Only problem was that I knew him to be a troublemaker and a bully himself. He and his recalcitrant teen aged son wreaked havoc in their neighborhood. Whenever he would come into work bitching about the lousy cops...whah whah whaaaa....I knew there had been another squabble in his neighborhood and always it involved him and his juvenile delinquent son.

Eventually the other teenagers in that neighborhood got so weary of being bullied they took matters into their own hands.

They got a couple of girls to lure this bully into a house - they were having a "party" while the parents were at work (during summer - no school during summer).
Someone at that party shot him through his right eye - shot him dead. They all said it was an "accident" ...the cops and the other families in that neighborhood knew what happened and unless someone confessed there was no way to charge anyone with the crime.

Guess what though - after that punk bully was killed there just were no more police calls to that street. go figure.

It is no coincidence that the ones who bitch the most about "lousy cops" are most often the cause of the problem in the first place.

So, I guess my point is that you sound exactly like the father of that dead teenager.

A troublemaking family on the block makes life miserable for all. The cops know who and what the problem is but they can't do much until they get folks to testify to the criminal behaviors...being a neighborhood nuisance is criminal but not criminal enough for the cops to arrest anyone - no - what they usually do is send folks to "arbitration" and hope they can work out the problems there...never works. NO PEACE until the troublemaking family finally leaves - one way or the other.

This guy and his stupid wife didn't move out of the neighborhood until a few years later when they finally divorced - I guess they turned their hostilities toward each other. So they went their separate ways and another family moved into that house.

Another thing. I think the killing of his son might have taught him a lesson too. He was nearly as much of a troublemaker at work after that. Seemed to realize that some folks will only put up with that for so long before they take matters into their own hands.

He used to instigate fights between other employees. I would never fight - not at work anyhow. He asked me one time why I didn't fight and I told him - because things like that have a way of escalating and I don't want to have to kill him or anyone else. He looked at me funny like and kind of laughed. I said - "I'm not kidding - this is not a joke to me" so leave me the fuck alone and we'll get along fine.

It because the court denied him access. He said if I can not see my own child then no one can. I don't justify it. It is just an observation
