I just want someone to explain why so many people think that promoting racism is a good idea.
These are educators pushing this. EDUCATORS. CRT started at the university level and has migrated damn near everywhere. And you know what? If you think that there are serious, intrinsic social issues baked into American culture that we need to address, fine, let's talk about those SPECIFIC issues. Let's NOT simply dismiss American culture as a product of "whiteness" and proceed to teach that it needs to be torn down and replaced.
At some point in time, you HAVE to be able to defend your ideas. That's what academic rigor is SUPPOSED to be. But CRT has never been challenged; it's never underwent academic rigor. It's simply been adopted as "the new truth" and everyone should follow it. And if you don't follow it, there's something inherently wrong with you. Oh, and BTW, if you question it, that's a sign of your "whiteness" because we've conveniently declared objectivity and scientific method as being elements of whiteness that should be rejected.
So instead of defending these ideas, instead of having a real discussion about these ideas and putting them to the test, instead of thinking about where these ideas are going to lead and what their logical conclusion will be, CRT proponents simply demand you accept them and denounce you if you don't. It's like a combination of the Pied Piper and the Emperor's New Clothes: they refuse to acknowledge that there are serious and significant problems with this "theory" but damn sure require you to not even ask about that, just submit to it.

The racist left foresaw this objection, so they redefined racism. They don't speak our language anymore.

I get that they have manipulated language in order to confuse and obfuscate; that point is not lost on me. But regardless of what you choose to call it, people have to know that when you promote a system that teaches children (and adults) that skin color matters more than character or ability, what the end result will be. We've lived through this; we know what happens.
So the real question here is why are so many embracing it so enthusiastically? Do they want a return to racist (classical definition) society? Are they really under the mistaken impression that two wrongs somehow will make a right, as per Kendi's assertion that we REQUIRE future discrimination based on skin color to make up for historical inequities? How can that be possible?
Or have we been deluding ourselves this entire time in thinking that we were moving past race only to discover that so many people not only WANT racism but they want what they perceive as retribution against the so-called descendants of those who partook in slavery, even though that was as little as 5% of the white population?
It's a good time to homeschool.

That's all well and good for your own kids, meanwhile this infection festers in the rest of the country, because many parents won't homeschool. This guy is fighting the infection at its source.
Hopefully there's still time before homeschooling becomes the only way a person can possibly be a parent who is not irresponsible! Or is it too late already? If it's too late for that, can the country still recover if all conservative parents immediately start homeschooling?
@Beachslim While I think you are perhaps close to making a very good point, I think it is important to point out that an idea is not AUTOMATICALLY bad just because communists happen to agree with it... just PROBABLY bad!
I think most countries today have some form of compulsory education for children, at least in the first world, and I don't think that necessarily makes all of those countries communist, although communists are trying to hijack education (quite successfully). It might be easier to reform compulsory education than to abolish it.
I think more choice in education is what we need. I believe parents should have absolute authority over their own children's education. If a parent wants their child to completely forego all education, I would question the quality of their judgement, but perhaps they should have the right to make that call, in the name of freedom and parental autonomy...
