No. This is another attempt to steer people into reducing the population voluntarily. As it turns out, people are living longer. For example, here are just regular men and women from around the world living beyond 100. Interestingly, Asian Americans have the highest life expectancy in the world.

So is the topic at hand neutering or vasectomy? I answered based on the question posed.
@coalburned I'm not sure. Am just stating the difference. Slaves were neutered to remove their libido and aggressiveness (and fooling around with a sultan's concubines). A vasectomy would leave their libido intact.
I discourage both. I foolishly believed the leftist nonsense about over population decades ago after my 2nd child was born. I was still living beneath the poverty level, but a good manager of money, so I had money in the bank to pay for the second child’s birth in cash and for the vasectomy while I was attending Grad school. I thought I was being responsible by getting a vasectomy. What an idiot I was! Not because the doctor botched the surgery and I suffered constant excruciating pain for 2 decades and after that the pain was mostly during sex for another decade (now it’s only occasional pain for less than an out and not even every day any more), but because I allowed myself to be duped into believing the leftist crap. When my oldest son-in-law said he was getting a vasectomy after his second child with my daughter, I told him how much I regretted it and asked him if he was sure he wouldn’t ever regret it. He still got it done, but he’s 40 yrs old and capable of deciding for himself.
Don't do it because somebody else wants you to. That’s a decision for you and your wife, but I always recommend against it. I like my other daughter and son-in-law’s perspective. They leave it up to God when and how many children they have. (Up to 5 so far; what a joy those little ones are.)

@Heresiarch my male dog's a shitzu (we keep his hair short) and my female one's a sheprador. The shitzu is too small and can't reach up to the lab, so there.
