All I see is dis-belief regarding OUR Media and Government!!!!
Maybe what we should be discussing is when AND how ARE we GOING to actually DO something about it!!!!!
We might also want to discuss what WE should be doing about the education system in this country!!!!

Closest thing to real government for a considerable time. The USA is the key. So elect a third party president and congress. Even the most rabid Democrat and Republican supports must know by now that they are the different sides of the same counterfeit coin.

the only solution is for the people as individuals to show up to city council meeting, school board meetings, venues where political officials and aspiring political officials will be speaking, the voting polls in every election...
if individuals do this they will form and represent themselves as the most powerful constituency in the arena of politics and governance.
apathy is the sickness active participation is the cure.

What goes around comes around.
When Richard Nixon and Joe McCarthy were violating first amendment rights to save us from communism conservatives didn't care. When good old J. Edgar Hoover was violating privacy rights, blackmailing presidents and entrapping radicals conservatives didn't care. When the private financial sector created more funny money than the federal government through derivatives conservatives didn't care. When conservatives looked the other way on illegal immigration because of cheap labor they didn't see a border crisis. How many Ken Lays and Enrons did conservatives allow to slip under the radar. How much of the homeless problem is because conservatives closed mental institutions. Who really caused the big tech problem if not the people opposed to regulation and corporate liability. The people that brought us wokeness were mostly educated in conservative primary education systems, why didn't that work out? Could it be that the feel good patriotic indoctrination has an opposite effect. Why didn't conservatives listen to Eisenhower's warnings about the military industrial complex. Didn't "you will own nothing and you will be happy" start with "I Owe my soul to the company store".
I could go on but the point is that "sinners" corrupt societies. The more freedom you have the greater the need for moral standards. Those standards can't be just about family values and other traditional life styles but must extend to business practices. It also means there is no such thing as good propaganda and benevolent intelligence agencies, lies are lies and they corrupt.

My point is the sins of our fathers.
Would a Christian honestly believe that a brutal slave trade could be justified? I see the rise of socialism as a direct result of our fathers sins. Had they adhered to the ideals of a Christian liberal democracy socialism would have little appeal.
So who were the real Christians? Southerners certainly thought they were Christian.
Racial slavery was the answer to the shortage of labor in the new world. In the old world all the land was owned and occupied. You couldn't just pick up and leave the piece of land you were tied to. In the new world anyone could just pick up and abandon the land owning aristocracy. What was needed was a way to bind people to their labor and skin color had the advantage of being immutable.
That system couldn't be duplicated in a frontier society. The frontier society forced the aristocracy to be more libertarian. Spain tried to duplicate the old society in the new world and it was a disaster. The English aristocracy in the new world tried but failed to do the same. It's from that failure that the U.S. constitution was forged. A grand experiment in individual rights. As they say necessity is the mother of invention.
