An Indian friend of mine was seriously ticked off that nazis ruined the swastika. Some 5000 years of history over cultures across the world defamed forever.

I read somewhere in my HS years that the Nazis got the swastika from their expeditions into Tibet. Didn't Hitler claim affinity between Aryans and Tibetans? I found that - and I still do - odd.

Hitler was very interested in finding things from the past that where thought to have divine power, the hope was that it could be used as a supper weapon.
@KeVince yep, that's the one. But the claiming of racial affinity, that was odd coming from the so-called master race.
