Pentagon FURIOUS over Oklahoma National Guard defying vaccine mandate
The Pentagon has warned the US National Guard that Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory and that members will face disciplinary action if they do not get the shot after a National Guard general openly defied a vaccine mandate.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.BTW, You refer to the Oklahoma national guard and all other guardsmen within the US as US National Guard. This is a misnomer. The vast majority of guardsmen within the US are state guardsmen that may be activated in case of war or for other national emergencies to defend/support the US and its allies. These guardsmen fall under belong to the i du usual states and are only on loan to the federal government when they are placed on title 10 orders. I say the vast majority, because there are actually a very small contingent of full time title 10 guardsmen that don’t belong to any particular state even though they operate within Florida, Colorado, DC, etc... the article doesn’t refer to them though.
I have briefly explained in a different comment how this works and why the pentagon is making threats they’ll have a very hard time backing up.

Wasn't there some kind of law being passed a while back to put state guard under federal control on consolidate power?
@Krunoslav No, we still have separation of powers between state and federal governments and some missions can only be completed when on a specific status. Although there are many commonalities and overlaps, there are also many differences. Since they often work side-by-side and lead in different missions, the differences are key in this situation and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
BTW, I have worked in many (if not all) of the different status categories during my long career with the military. I was assigned the task of teaching a lesson on the differences and similarities between the various status categories to field grade officers attending a graduate degree leadership program at Air War College. (The differences among title 32 reserve status guard; title 32 active guard reserve status; title 10 active guard status, Title 10 federal reserve status; title 10 regular active duty status, etc... .) I have personally served in many of the various statuses in different states and around the world. I also won an award for top legal office in V Corps when I was in my first tour as an enlisted man in the Army. I mention this because most of our military personnel don’t have all the knowledge about this subject I’ve gained over my career.
Woohoo! Finally a General officer who isn’t a coward. This will require support from the Governor if it is to continue longterm. The federal government (ie the president) has a lot of pull with the national guard in that it provides federal funds in exchange for the right to place on title 10 active duty (federal control) portions of the title 32 (state run) guard at different times.
The Governor would have to be willing to accept the mat the federal funds may be withheld should he shield his troops from federal demands. However, the guard (on title 32 status) do not fall under the UCMJ and the MCM. They would have to be placed on title 10 orders to be tried under this federal military legal structure.
This General, however is placing his Stars and even his career on the line to protect his troops from the tyrannical leftist movement to use the military as social experiment guinea pigs. This brave move by a Guard General could be the first step in removing the yellow streak running down the backs of the vast majority of the General ranks of the American military. It has a long way to go before our generals regain some modicum of honor, but if other generals begin to step up and protect their troops from misuse and experimentation, it may lead to other wise and courageous leadership within the military as a whole. Who knows, they may even stop playing whack-a-mole with their field grade officers who show leadership qualities.

Exactly what I was thinking! If the OK Governor and his generals successfully demonstrate the ability to do the right thing and risk loss of federal funding, that will encourage other states to follow suit. However, it will help the success of OK’s fight if other states like Texas, South Carolina and yes my own state of Florida join in the fight.
@Daveclark5 if enough states stand up tyranny fails.
