I highly encourage conservatives to listen to npr, as hard as that may be to stomach. It’s pure TAXPAYER FUNDED anti white anti Christian anti America garbage. It gets nearly HALF A BILLION DOLLARS annually. This needs to stop.

Even back then it was unconsumable for anyone right of communism. I agree. If they can't be objective, they have no right taking a cent of public money.

I used to listen to them, but found them to be a source of irritation as they are usually on the wrong side of everything. I stopped listening to almost all leftist crap and have found myself much less angry. I also limit the stuff on the right that chooses a tack that makes me feel anger. I still get the facts, but don’t choose to listen to the analysis. Much of the presentation of issues, even though factually correct, tends to discourage divide and separate people rather than encouraging working with others and finding things of value that can unite us and make us all better (synergy).

While I can understand your position of not wanting to be exposed to anything that upsets you I also think there is a time for righteous anger and that time is now. It may be counterproductive to argue with every leftist you meet but it’s also pure fantasy to believe that there’s ever going to be a bridging of the gap that divides what is essentially now the globalist left (there’s not an ounce of difference between the Labor Party in the U.K. or democrats in the United States or their contemporaries across the western world, it’s all the globalist left now) and American conservatives. We believe in the constitution and the bill of rights, they believe in an all powerful authoritarian state based in Marxism. I don’t want to find any common ground with that type. They need to be opposed and stopped at everything they try to do.
I think I hear you saying you take care of your mental health, and know your limits.
Some time ago now, I remember some article that said public reaction brought about negligible change(I thought 3%) but real change came from those with power.
I see this.
I guess I need evidence that 'getting involved' produces any significant results.
Essentially, isn't it robbing us of our all too short, busy life?
In fact, I'll go further and suggest all of it is addictive.
Historically, haven't governments always been evil, corrupt?
I'm not suggesting passive but contented, enjoying life, seeing the bright side.
I haven't seen that being done yet.
