Fuck China. They only trade when it benefits them at the other nation's expense anyway. Lithuania had a pretty rough time under the Soviets, don't know why they'd want to deal with the CCP.

You could ask the same question to any country that deals with China, which was the question Trump was asking America: Why does the US want to deal with China? Uncle Joe doesn’t give a shit.
Lithuania can trade with plenty of other countries - do they really "need" China? I doubt it.

Hopefully not, but it’s a big kick in the ass. For me the headline here is China’s economic aggression more than the unfortunate fallout for Lithuanian.
And the question could be posed to America, the question that Trump alone asked: Do we even need to deal with China?
@GeeMac I think the unfortunate answer is that in the near term, yes, we do need to deal with China because we have ceded our manufacturing might to China in exchange for cheap labor. For a nation of 350 million people we don't have the industrial capacity to maintain the status quo let alone really compete with China. If we get our heads out of our asses we can regain what we've lost but we must go cold turkey on the cheap labor and bite the bullet on prices. The sleeping giant that Japan woke at Pearl Harbor is no longer. Its descendant is a zoned out, over-fed, under-motivated couch potato that may have forgotten how to get up and do it. I pray I am wrong.
@Geofrank unfortunately I have to agree. The pandemic has been an eye opener for a lot of people who suddenly discovered how heavily we rely on foreigners in a globalized world. The computer chip shortage, which is impacting products across the board and helping fuel inflation is the big example. China can’t wait to get control of Taiwan’s crucial chip production.
