Maybe, we need to sink THIS ship!!!!! Then we can start over!!!!

I think there is some merit to that proposition if we can first apply it to the people currently administering that sanction. For every ten righteous executions there are about three who are either innocent or guilty of a lesser offence not rising to the death penalty. We have built a system of "justice" that gives influential and wealthy persons a free pass and poor or insignificant people the shaft. We must live up to our principles or we devolve into that which we profess to oppose.

@FuzzyMarineVet I must admit you have a point. But first, the Judgdishial system must become a true Justice system. Law has become a tool for the worst of humanity. And with Justice must come the abandonment of secrecy in government. Secrets fester into and promote corruption. In the meantime, we have a corrupt system that needs to be purged. Those who control this vile enterprise will not go quietly. They employ violence without conscience. So we may have to behave in a similar manner. And there is the quandary? Normal people can not indulge in these violent acts without being changed.

@adriaan23 Alas 'tis true that normal people cannot engage in these act without being changed. That's why God made abnormal people, like myself, who volunteer to enter military service in spite of the social stigma attached because, to quote a British sage, "Good men sleep soundly in their beds knowing that rough men stand ready to do violence in their name." Or something like that. There are several who are able and accustomed to perform that which needs to be done.

@FuzzyMarineVet Yes indeed the true soldier is a valiant fighter for other men's freedoms. His or Her life should not be put in harm's way for any other reason. This, sadly, is not the case. Those in power use soldiers to gain more power because it is their intoxicant. They live and breathe with greed as their oxygen. They are the ones that need to be removed. Those that would replace them face the truism "ultimate power corrupts ultimately" The best humans can do is to hold power with strong checks and balances. Those checks and balances have over the years been removed.

@adriaan23 I thought of a solution. Make every war instigated by the greedy politicians only able to be fought by the ones who started it, that is those self same politicians. If the blood that will be shed must be their own, they will not be willing to needlessly go to war for financial or political gain.

@FuzzyMarineVet A great idea. But remember the politicians and their puppet masters have bunkers to go to if it all turns nuclear. That why they say "We are willing to take the risk" They have a fallback. I wonder if they to were unable to use their bunkers, How much risk would they take if they were exposed as the rest of us.
