Russian strategy is focus on pinning down Ukrainian soldiers in Kyiv while Russia mops up in the Donbass. They have picked up about 20% of Ukraine and its doubtful they will ever leave east Ukraine.

Biden's and NATOs 3 options regarding Ukraine based on credible analysis experts -

1. let things play out as they are, accept that for extents and purposes its over and see what Russia decides to do and just continue the rhetoric and leave it be otherwise. Biden has over played his hand and is losing ground but the neo-cons in his administration have no 'reverse button' and may push for escalation such as a 'no fly zone' but that Germany and France won't countenance that option. Poland's Deputy PM is hawkish and yearns to regain western Ukraine because that was part of Poland pre-WW2. Poland may continue to agitate and when Biden gets to Warsaw to take western Ukraine as Putin had said in his initial speech said that historically western Ukraine belonged to Poland and properly belonged to Poland. So Poland may work out a private deal with Russia to get them not to oppose them claiming the west as a type of protectorate or an annexation.If Poland gets the green light from Biden to enter Ukraine this would most likely seal the disintegration of Poland. Poland is aware that Hungary may seek a slice of Ukraine too. If this is the plan hopefully Poland will setup a 'deconfliction hot-line' with Russia/Putin first to advise them of their plans to ensure no conflict with Russian forces. But the Polish Deputy PM hates Russia so may decide to enter but if Poland does this they cannot do as under the auspices of NATO so it would be a Polish force only which would mean its not protected under Article 5 of NATO regs and if they get into battle with Russian Forces they are on there own and find themselves in a real crap situation. Additionally them entering Ukraine is a violation of the rules of the UN Security Council. They need to sort their intentions out with Russia/Putin prior to making a move to mitigate the chance of a military engagement and understanding that the western Ukrainians will vigorously oppose either of these interventions to retain their autonomy.

2. try and create some sort of false flag, implement some sort of 'no fly zone' and escalate by dragging NATO allies into the situation which is a dangerous option

3. Try and get Poland to step in and at least grab a piece of Ukraine because Russia's victory is a done deal so at least grab Lviv or a piece of western Ukraine before Russia may decide to move further west.

Additionally, Kherson, a city in southern Ukraine which is adjacent to Crimea in the Kherson Region which includes Mariupol, announced it is switching its currency to rubles. The sense is that Russia will not surrender any Russian speaking territories it has gained including Odessa but that does not rule out the possibility of Putin changing his terms to include annexing even more territory.

The Duran's view is that Russia has for all extents and purposes has obtained victory in Ukraine (the IMF has said that Ukraine has already lost 2/3 of their GDP so Zelensky dragging this out only hurts Ukraine more), Russia has successfully worked their strategy regardless of the media propaganda and has moved into the mop up stage to work out finalizing the terms Putin gave Zelensky.
