Seriously, what nations were “obliterated” by the US or UK?

Afghanistan? Well, it’s not like Ukraine levelled two skyscrapers in Moscow and incinerated 3,000 office workers over their morning coffee.

Iraq? No, because while no WMDs were found, Saddam had violated his UN agreement for weapons inspections. He had also engaged in a war with Iran and invaded Kuwait. Are there 49 other countries fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Russians to subdue Ukraine?

Let’s reach way back to Grenada or Panama. Seriously. We’re these countries “obliterated”? Likely after the US invasion they required a bit of beach grooming.

What do you mean, 'Serious'? Libya, Syria and Iraq for starters. Yemen is also strips of rubble where neighbourhoods used to be. Obama's drones absolutely crumbled complete sections of Allepo. If you need me to, I will go back in my files and post photos of Syrian cities in rubble that drove millions of refugees to the roads of Europe

I hope you are not justifying all the invasions by the USA. In Iraq, the atrocities that took place among Iraqi civilians, Abu Ghraib Prison and Guantanamo were covered up until exposed by WikiLeaks. The ORB estimates over 1 million Iraqi casualties in both Iraqi Wars.

Perhaps you can see why I am not jumping on the "Let's go fight Russia" thing. It's kinda like having Justin Trudeau preach about democracy

As I said in a comment on another post: Where USA (and allies) ever intervened militarily there are, were and always will be those who will be grateful of our help and then there will be those who won't very much like getting blown to bits.
Kind of like Israel vs Hamas - don't fk with us or our allies and we won't blow you up...ok? ok...

@iThink, @Sensrhim4hizvewz clearly, to me, there’s a profound difference in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the operations usually cited by critics of US foreign policy.

Of course, I also acknowledge a clear difference between accidental death, manslaughter, murder and suicide, though some of my friends will still argue — quite correctly — the victim is nonetheless dead.

@GeeMac From where I sit, the real difference is that Putin runs Russia and is doing his evil out in the open while the United States is run by bureaucrats who are hiding their deeds behind a cloak of secrecy to avoid the sovereign, the people, finding out the evil they do in the name of the nation.

Second problem Israel had in the 90s was a lack of a formal alliance with regional O&G nations like Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia to convert the gas to LNG and then market the LNG.

Third problem Israel had was a lack of a pipeline system to transport their LNG to Europe. Bashir Assad has blocked all efforts to allow an LNG pipeline to cross Syrian territory. Syria has had close ties to Russia since the 1950s. Assad understood that the Israeli/UAE LNG pipeline into Europe will usurp Russia's energy market in Europe and crush Russia's economy. ISIS was formed from Al-Qaeda to bring down the Assad regime. For 3 1/2 years, they destroyed Syria. Russia eliminated ISIS in 19 weeks!

I’m just reading his new book “The Dying Citizen”, and one of the things he argues is that farmers, tradespeople and the non-white-collar workers used to be key players in the affairs of the nation, but have been completely cut out of the conversation by elites with useless post-graduate degrees in critical theory.
