Don't go too far in the comparison to McCarthyism. Let's not forget that McC was correct in his charges against those who he claimed were actual commies. Not the smear campaign silliness where if you attended a party and some drunkard in the corner was a piece of commie trash you were automatically branded -- that is the kind of stupidity pushed by modern-day commie trash when they claim if RvW is overturned then gay marriage will be outlawed next.
No, McC officially charged some with being members of the Communist party. Turns out those few actually were in the pay of the Soviets. That came out when the Wall fell and Soviet docs came out showing who was on the payroll.
My reason for mentioning this is that at the core of McC's campaign/rampage was a kernel of truth. Modern day cancel culture idiots have no truth at their core or on the surface.

It's a communist tool where they enrage a victim class in a capitalist democratic republic that demands DIE and gets it legislated to accrue governmental power, and then if you resist in any way, even just calling out their inconsistencies, they call you a fascist.

Not too many people understand what socialism is. It's a political system designed to centralize the engineering of society and the economy of the people they rule over. The ruling class essentially owns everything and you own nothing. It's been tried before and is in the process of being implemented now. Funny, in the past owning nothing never made the general populace happy. I fail to see how that claim can be brought about today. Drugs? Hypnosis? Technocracy? Fear?

There isn't much difference between all the forms of socialism. Communism, Fascism, Nazism, Maoism, etc., while the differences are minor, the similarities are clearly major. Each of them understand that all the others wish total power and control over the socio/economic system. Which is why they are so willing to fight one another. They will conspire to attack a capitalist system but once the enemy is gone they will struggle among themselves for total control. If possible one will absorb the other. If not, one will annihilate the other. There are two ways to arrive at a totally socialist government, through revolution or through evolution. Marxist communism was a revolutionary method of achieving the total state. But revolution has proven too costly and destructive an endeavor so communists today employ dialectical materialism to produce division in the populace. It is slower than revolution but not as destructive, most of the infrastructure in a society will stay intact and building back better will not be as costly a revolutionary war. Communism is also an international movement whereas most other forms of socialism are just national in scope. Thus, the globalist movement vilifies nationalism of any kind. Of course, nationalism in Ukraine is promoted to fight the larger not on board with communism nation of Russia. It's a proxy war supported by the west that has embraced the globalist movement.
