The Finnish president is very clear here.
To anyone who still claims that NATO is the cause of NATO expansion.
No it is not.
It is us Russian aggression and their belief that they can dictate to sovereign independent countries who they can and cannot align with.

That is the core issue here. It is subservient to all other petty political agendas.

Do sovereign nations have the right to decide their own destiny or should we just allow big bulky countries to what they want?

I have now asked this question to each and every Russian aggression supporter and no one wants to answer this question.

Putin looks at the military bases surrounding Russia? What is he to think?

Did his nuclear submarines suddenly stopped working?
Finland ONLY joined NATO because of Russia.
The military basis around Russia only exist because Russia is an aggressive dictator who invaded Georgia and now Ukraine.

If Russia only sought to expand its influence through culture and economy, there would be no military basis on its borders.

It is easier for Russia to clear the nationalists out of Ukraine than for the WEF. It forwards the West's objective of using Ukrainian Nationalists as cannon fodder and what's left of the people of Ukraine can then sell their national sovereignty to the west. The war may even bring about the more important objective of a regime change in Russia.

All in all, every western aligned nation is being shredded to institute the build back better great reset. Politicians have made such a mess of western nations that there is no way to dig themselves out of their national debts and failing economies. What I say is a warning to Ukraine to avoid any alignment with the west. Once the Russian-hating Nationalists are cleared out of Ukraine, they would have a better chance of retaining any semblance of national sovereignty by aligning with Russia. It's not that I am a pro-Putin apologist. I am just against all the chaotic destruction occurring in the Western nations - in case you may have missed all that is happening in them. Let's not forget where all that chaos is being manufactured - Klaus Schwab's WEF in league with the UN's Agenda 30, the instant billionaires of social media and a few other corporate billionaires who have already bought the mainstream media - a media that thrives off the narrative of the American intelligence community and the Democrat party.

The Ukrainians, historically, have good reason to not like Russia after it formed the communist USSR.
But it is time to look at the present, not the past. Russia is no longer a communist state. It is perhaps an oligarchy with a political dictator at the helm but Ithink Putin fully understands communism is a failed ideology. Meanwhile, the west is falling into the hands of the new "communists" that identify as globalists so as to distance themselves from that hideous and tyrannical form of government. "You will own nothing and you will be happy." or at least pretend to be. Just like they did in the good old USSR.

That policy never worked for Cuba, Angola, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Iran, Afghanistan, Chad or Yemen at the same time the Monroe Doctrine is still in place after 2 centuries

The Finnish leader is missing out the part about surrounding Russia with militarized bases. Finnish/Russian differences go back a century especially after Stalin's actions of 1939-40 however Finland has to be a neighbor of Russia and should follow a policy of reconciliation

I always like to turn statements around and see if they still make sense.

“However Russia needs to be a neighbour to Finland and should follow a policy of reconciliation”.

@Hanno

Finland's other option is to become an armed adversary along Russia's borders or even a member of NATO which will turn Finland into a targeted people. Scott Ritter just put out a video on this issue. Finland can't move. They have to be a neighbour of Russia so they have to get along or become an enemy

@Sensrhim4hizvewz
By invading a sovereign country, who did not military threaten Russia, but just refused to be economically dictated,,
Russia is forcing Finland into NATO.
That is the whole pint of the Finnish presidents speech.

Finland had little to lose. If it follows Russian economic demands, ir will fail as a country. If they refuse Russia will invade.

So they are left with either becoming as corrupt and poor as Russia or join NATO.
That is what my post is all about.

"It is us Russian aggression and their belief that they can dictate to sovereign independent countries who they can and cannot align with." - has the US and it's allies not done that exact same thing?

Tom81 Level 8 May 11, 2022

We have discussed this I believe.

The US was wrong in some of its wars. We all need to oppose those wars.

Similarly we need to oppose this war.

When ANZAC invade and destroy the Pacific Island wishing to align with China, then you have the same or similar situation.

@Hanno agreed, all wars are bad. Problem is how do you get rid of despots and corrupt regimes/dictatorships without doing so? Sanctions don't work much, agreements are broken and laws aren't upheld, so 🤷

@Tom81

Do you include Russia and China and Venezuela etc in your list?
Because NZ not far off from being in that category. So do I need to start worrying about warships on my beach?
Or is it just Ukrainian despots and dictators that need to be removed?

The point I am trying to make is that Russia is every bit as corrupt (if not more than Russia) and run by a dictator as Ukraine.
Many countries are in the WEF influence. Do you want all of them to be attacked and neutralised by Russia/China?

I just fail to see how the world will be a better place if we just allow Russia to annex Ukraine.

How you want to remove the dictators without wiping out half of the world in the process?
I don’t know either.

@Hanno Yes, I include everyone in the list. I don't believe Russia or Putin is good but I see them as a lesser evil than the Ukrainian regime at this particular point in time. Ukraine might be small and not have too much global influence, but it doesn't take much poison to poison a well. And as I see it, corrupt forces from the west are just as much blame to what's happened to Ukraine as Russia.
As for the WEF, I would like to see it and it's influence in countries dissolved, not the country itself. I have no beef with Ukrainians as a people or culture, I have a problem with the regime and what it's doing. Kinda like the US - I can be against a specific admin and it's operatives, it's policies as well as the more extreme sections of it's society without hating Americans as a whole or a nation.
As for removal of dictators...🤷 ... how would you remove yours in NZ? How will Canada?... I don't know how the one's in Oz will be removed when half the nation is asleep in front of the tv soaking up lies and propaganda. It's a moral dilemma with no simple answers which is why I'm more neutral on what Russia has done.
When the allies took back Vichy was that invasion or liberation?
As far as all the Russia wants to annex half of Europe - I call bs. In modern day times market domination is more strategically important than physical occupation, and in that regard most of us have already been 'invaded' by China thanks to our greedy, self serving governments.

@Tom81
I cannot argue much against what you Just said there.

Not sure if I am a Russian aggression supporter but if I am it is because they are aggressively standing against the New World Order and the entire transhumanism agenda being promulgated. Not to mention all the human trafficking, body parts harvesting, money laundering, and G-D knows what else. For all I know it is a fifth column; I can't tell because my RT America news channel has been terminated by the left, or the very fascist anti-fascists.

Who ceded Finland to Russia in the war of 1809? And before that, back to the Vikings?

As for answering your question, I would love to, but I feel the voices of the past should get to speak first. Such as the US running over the Philippine Islands after helping them become a free republic from the Spanish Empire. If that is too far back, how about Prussia.

Or the US Manifest Destiny and halving Mexico.

Or more recent stuff, like Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, a former ally that was built up to being the 4th most powerful military at the time, to be a thorn in the side of Iran; and the casualities of human waves....don't forget, who tried to give the iraqi people a flag of blue & white after it was 'liberated', whose idea was that?

What about Libya, going on their own with a gold standard economy and trying to create a pan-african union?

Or Central America?

I am not a communist, but I can understand them. i also understand the islamic motive against the world trade center and not wanting to be globalized. When the world trade organization met in seattle years ago, the protesters against it were labeled by the MSM as anti-globalization forces.

I feel for the Finns & their right to sovereignty. I feel for the innocent of the Ukraine as well. But all those leaders from time immemorial till now should have followed through with just one peace treaty brokered honestly. Its been going on before the Treaty of Paris 1856.

So going back in time…. The American indigenous peoples then have the right to kick you out of Arkansas all the way back to Germany?

You see I don’t understand why you want to go back to 1809 and earlier and ignore 1917 and 1944, and then pretend 2022 did not happen?

If you agree the US annexation of half of Mexico was disgraceful and a shame on the American people, why then do you not oppose the Russian annexation of South Ossetia, Crimea, Donbas etc?

@Hanno my ancestor was bought as chattel from the English pirate Sir Francis Drake by indigenous First Nation, one of the civilized tribes, taken from a Spanish ship. This land in Arkansas was taken by force from the Osage before the trail of tears. We also ended the Comanche moon raids and this side of Comacheria. You are barking up the wrong tree.

As for my mother's side, they came from Austria and before that Turkey, the other branch went to Russia from Turkey and before all of that, we were from Israel. As for 1809, the Scandanvians have been at it for awhile, maybe since the days of the Roos Vikings. Did not ignore 1917 that lead to 1944; nor do I pretend that 2022 has not happened, that is just projection of ignorance on your part.

Nothing i can do about US/Mexico annexation, nor did I say it was disgraceful and a shame, that is pure classical liberalism projection there too from you.. i am just stating the facts, not whitewashing it, not saying it in racist wording either, just using standard speech dialectics. so you don't get triggered.

i don't oppose the Russian annexation of the present day either, especially when the MSM and the West was reporting for so many years the corruption, the Nazi Azov Battalion, and the stifling of the opposition parties by the current kingpin oligarch, who is fast becoming the world's next billionaire. Not to mention questionable bio-engineering on human beings being done. I just pointed out it what seems to be a continuous horizon event, thus the Treaty of Paris 1856.

hey but if you are so much into the pro-democracy thing, you got any posts of supporting the pro-democracy protests of Hong Kong?

@Weltansicht

I was trying to make a point that you cannot hide behind the past when the world is continuously changing.

On Hong Kong I always stated that it is up to the Hong Kong people to decide however that is complicated due to China - Britain agreement.

Posting war crimes from the US does not make the Ukrainian invasion right.

But hey, if you do not oppose the annexation of sovereign countries by aggressors, that is your view. At least you are honest.

@Hanno dunno about the Hong Kong one, just seems decades later since that agreement, and forcing people who were not born, for the most part, to suffer under it.

As for posting the US war actions, you are missing the point or are ignoring the reality of the pretense on Iraq invasion & sovereign country with the excuse of 'weapons of mass destruction'.

As for Russia and putting aside the historical context prerogatives of centuries past treaties; under the Soviet Union was not the Iron curtain erected as a buffer zone? did not the easing and eventual fall of that said 'curtain' reflect the warming trust of detente? did not NATO say there would be no further expansions towards the East?

That is correct, it is my view, and I am brutally honest. I do not turn to the right or to the left.

Who granted the people in charge that destroy whole nations their arrogant moral imperative? They do not have the right to teach us about 'democracy' and the values of living freely to their versions of morality, if they have any morals. Of course, they also said 'you will own nothing and be very happy about it.'

As I said at the very beginning, Not sure if I am a Russian aggression supporter but if I am it is because they are aggressively standing against the New World Order and the entire transhumanism agenda being promulgated. But I can understand their concern and deciding to take action vs the usual USA version of not fixing it until it is a bit too late. But what's a few more expendable human resources for the US or by proxy, to protect their cash cow money making laundry businesses?

Finland should provide all other NATO countries with a supply of catgirls.
