Nuclear WW3 is coming, just not today.
I've always viewed these three passages as descriptive of the results of the use of nuclear weapons...
Isaiah 25:5
"Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low."
Isaiah 29:5
"Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly."
Zechariah 14:12
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."
...just like this one as descriptive of today's smart weapons...
Jeremiah 50:9
"For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain."

Nope. 1 Samuel 23:7-24:22 is a good example of equating God's foreknowledge as not necessarily being deterministic. There are many similar examples.
By the way, I believe that the phrase "strangers, the terrible of the nations" refer to hegemonic military mights that did not exist yet as of the time of the prophecy's writing.
