With that as the basis of the Vatican, what can you expect?

The celibacy thing is insane but it isn't based on religious doctrine as the church readily admits. All religions have their oddities, some more destructive than others. I'm not defending the Catholic Church, as pointed out here it has a pretty vile history but then so do most of the other Christian Sects. For example the support of slavery by the Southern Baptists. Celibacy is in my opinion a bad policy that like prohibition may have been based in some noble cause but has done more harm than good. All ideologies have the same problem in that the ideology supplants common sense or pragmatism in true believers.
I found more info in another article, but I'm not sure about the metaphors. I do not follow it as closely.

It would have been nice if he had addressed the misery caused by the policies flowing out of the WEF. I simply cannot trust anyone vested in liberation theology.
