Everyone alive today benefits directly from a history shaped by the slavery, violence, and war that played a role in developing the liberal society we have today. To deny that is sheer ignorance.

Point taken but not everyone's family so directly profited from slavery and the slave trade itself.
@Penrodster if you believe the false BLM view that “slavery built America”, then yes, every person who lives in America benefits today from slavery.
My broader point is that the liberal democracies, are routinely slagged as being being built not just on slavery, but on violence, war, plunder and colonialism. If that is indeed true, then the same slavery, violence, war, plunder and colonialism has resulted in the safest, freest, healthiest and most affluent nations in the world.
Whether one is in the top 10% or the bottom 10%, we all benefit directly from our dark past.
Progressives refuse to acknowledge that they, too, are complicit. Of course they also refuse to acknowledge we have evolved over the centuries.
@GeeMac That's true. BUT if she is actively campaigning on slave reparations that OTHER people have to pay to her then I think it is fair to point out her slave holding and slave trading past.
