Social media sites shutting down the President's accounts and censoring conservative voices is a really bad thing. This morning we hear news of major social media banning photos ands censoring political content. I don't care what side you are on or what your world views are. This is bad, very bad. If you support this type of action, you are sadly misinformed. We as a society should never consent censorship of any side. There is an old saying. "The answer for bad speech is more speech". I have always been against censorship in every form no matter where it comes from. I do not agree with many messages and views, but I have never been for censorship on any level. This is a bit different from first amendment protections. First amendment prevents governmental powers from censoring. This time it is private companies, not government entities. And these private companies can set their own rules and values. And that would be fine if they were not funding a political side with hundreds of millions of dollars. They have picked a side, right or wrong. We as a society should censor them by moving to minds, parler, mewe, rumble, bitchute, etc...... And if we do, the most popular platforms will find themselves to have become echo chambers. And they will fade out and die eventually. I believe the American people want to speak and be heard. I believe the majority of American people do not wish to silence differing views. And even though the first amendment does not apply here, the principle behind it is more important.

I'm for free speech. I don't believe in censorship. That's one issue I have with the left, though I'm a liberal myself.

I also believe in consequences for particular choices in freedom of speech ... social consequences. If I say something that offends someone or they disagree with, I expect they might be vocal about it! And that's how conversations happen. Or it should be, in a mature and logical world.

Also, just to be honest, if someone has an idea I hate, I want to know. If they're censored, they're not going to stop thinking it. They'll just stop saying it out in the open. Sure, it's easier for certain people to find each other if they're allowed to say certain things.. but it's also easier for me to avoid them if I choose. Or argue with them!

Centrists and anyone on the right will pay for yesterday’s action for a generation. The protesters have given progressives an unprecedented opportunity to clamp down, and they will. Progressives will use yesterday’s events to shut down the right for decades to come.

Conservatives need to move on and start working towards 2022. This week will make that job much harder.
