I don't have children, but if I did I would sue the shit out of the school pushing this hokum.

I assume many public school parents don't have the time or the money to sue, or maybe don't know it's in their arsenal to do so. Home schooling is probably not an option either for many, although, if you were able to keep a kid away from this insanity, the lack of indoctrination would pave the way for success in later life.
Dems don't like school vouchers for this reason...can't brainwash kids in private religious schools.
The end result will be people continuing to flee the larger infected cities for more traditional minded rural communities in Red States, hopefully the contagion doesn't follow them.
I've actually been wondering about that very thing. I was envisioning a modern one-room school house...with a few retired teachers teaching civics and cursive handwriting, and cracking knuckles with yard sticks when the little brats misbehave. I hope this village school concept catches on !
