Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.reminds me - some years ago there was a news item about an immigrant man and woman (I believe they came from Laos) who were taking geese from a city park somewhere - might have been Central Park in NY City...anyhow, they were cited for several violations...one I believe was "hunting" or was it harvesting wild game without a license and also for taking the geese out of season...there might have been several other violations but it was a long time ago and I forget now.
I believe they were cooking the geese and selling the meat - or maybe they owned a restaurant - something like that.
They just didn't know better at the time. In their country a live goose was good for the taking no matter what time of year it was - you would be eternally grateful to have a flock of wild geese or ducks sitting in a pond or on a river near your village -
We just don't know how good we have it here in USA until you see stories like that.

You would think that there would be some type of procedure they would go through which would inform them of American law's before becoming a legal citizen..
Good thing it wasnt a more serious misunderstanding of a law, I always wondered what the point of borders separating countries on the map was. Guess its so people know when to stop duck grabbin'...
@DesireNoDesires American citizens can't get thru a day without violating some law somehow much less non-English speaking immigrants who spent their whole lives living in grass hut villages and living more or less off the land. I think the courts should have let them off with a simple warning and sent them about their business
When my.grandmother first came to this country a dove flew in to the house. She caught it. All the kids.were going crazy and thought she caught us a new pet. Imagine the horror when she said she would cook it. It was crazy. Luckily she didn't. But at that young age I learned to appreciate not having to do that. Now, I also appreciate her skills in catching that thing lol
