By the way....Christmas is in fact A Roman holiday. It was called the Saturnia in the honor of the Roman God Saturn. the equivalent Greek god was named Chronos. Romans were stopping to work for a week from the 17 to the 23 of December to drink feast and gamble.

It is about love, hope and joy. Does it matter to me whether it's Roman?? Nope. What matters is spending time with those I love.

Every year people bring this stuff up like it's going to blow our minds. I celebrate the American holiday of Christmas. Almost everything we do around this time of Year is pure Americana movies and music especially we have developed our own holiday some practice a secular version some practice religious version but I have never heard Merry Saturn or I'll be home for Chronos.

Winter solstice festivals are much older than Romans and they just adopted much more ancient traditions.
Still a great reason to have a party and give kids toys.
