By the time they reach college age their brains are dry sponges - denied any training or experience, knowledge about logical thinking or development of a moral compass. They fail to know or at least to recognize the fact that they are NOT the center of the universe.
It has been said that "if you don't believe in something (God perhaps?) you'll fall for anything" - don't know who said that but it rings of truth and wisdom.
These young people have no sense of purpose - no real ideas about personal goals beyond the shallow notions of wealth and fame. They are starving for something to pour their youthful energy into.
They are fed (by their professors) the silly idea that they can become the "saviors of the world" themselves. They see themselves as Christlike prophets; sans the capacity for self sacrifice.
One day reality will smack them in the face - they will be faced with the ievatible hardships that real life brings to every living person and some time during their lifetimes. I fear they will be unequipped and they will have little or no coping skills when something profoundly difficult comes their way. Life is a Harsh Schoolmaster I always say...I wish them luck.
@iThink What I mean to say, my wife which is a bit younger than me used to be extremely left wing liberal... and through the years she has become much more conservative.
As she started the I work and pay taxes, her attitudes changes a lot.
Maybe we were like that as well and just don’t remember.
