I would love to have one of these folks ask me who won the civil war. In fact we have never had a civil war in this country. The Confederate States seceded, and the Union invaded. That was no more a civil war than was the American Revolution.
In this video one of the people she approached did ask "Which civil war", that is something I have wanted to see someone respond to that question with too. In the history of mankind there have been numerous civil wars. Of course if she asked the right people what the "civil war" was about she might learn a thing or two. I expect she goes with the tried old lie that it was about slavery.
I have also realized, having watched so many of these people not have a clue about Lincoln's War that all the "controversy" about the Confederate Battle flag is wholly manufactured. Though most of these people on the street, or beach as the case may be, quizzes tend to take place in California. I think tehy would find more folks with a sense of history if they went else where like just about any former member of the Confederacy, or even along the east coast, but maybe not.

Fort Sumter was attacked by the South Carolina militia. The Civil War was not a war of northern aggression, it was started by the Confederates who were trying to preserve the institution of slavery.
@GaryWitt That is the official lie we have been taught but not the truth. Fort Sumter is in South Carolina which was Confederate territory. The union refused to remove their soldiers from foreign soil. The Confederacy was simply protecting what was it's own. This was a situation Lincoln used to justify an invasion of the south. Secession was not about protecting slavery because it was not under any threat of being abolished at the time of secession. If you research Lincoln's speeches when he campaigned for senate and the presidency he said numerous times he did not believe in ending slavery, and if ever was ended then all the blacks in this country should be sent back to Africa to countries under British rule.
The Morel Tariff and numerous other taxation scams created by the northern states for over a decade were the reason for secession. The southern states provided more than 70% of the money in the coffers of the federal government but was not get any thing for their investment. All efforts to correct this problem were thwarted by the north because they had more votes in senate and congress due to the larger voting population of northern states.
The south seceded and created their own nation. Since all the rich folk up north would not be happy with increased taxes to cover the loss of revenue the Lincoln administration invaded.
A civil war is when two, or more factions are fighting for control of a whole country, one of them typically being the acting government. This is not what happened then. The only reason the south took up arms against the unions was in self defense. They had no interest in taking over Washington, and running the whole of what had been the United States. They simply wanted to be left alone by the U. S.
