Since he brought New York into the conversation, I'll pick up on the part that interests me. In GB, there is no 2nd amendment and yet the above statement about surpassing our murder rates (in these major cities.)? If this is a factual statement, this appears to be another piece of evidence that the gun isn't the reason for the crime, it's the person behind weapon. It certainly points to a different point, namely: if the murderer didn't have a gun, he'd use a knife, if he didn't have the knife, he'd use his vehicle to run them down, if he didn't have a car ....
Point is, it doesn't fix the problem to outlaw the tool (that only punishes the innocent who use it for good purposes; dangerous outlaws don't follow the law)
