The new reactionaries are on the left, recognizing the threat to their decades-long hegemony. The reactions will become more violent, more desperate and unfocused, and less and less effective as a result. They will not go easily. Cultural evolution takes a long time, and they have been patient. Trump totally disrupted the schedule which explains their sudden panic.
Now is the moment to pushback harder.

I see lots of pushback by otherwise intelligent people. It’s frightening that many people are forming personal values systems based on CNN sound bites.
Someone at lunch today was going on about Trump’s “dangerous” followers. She became angry when I asked why, if Trump followers are so dangerous, were 2016 Democratic rallies never bothered, while Republican rallies were constantly targeted and disrupted.

@shj648 "woke" aka "SJWs" aka "PC" police have never been shy about virtue signalling and shaming anyone who dare express a nonconforming idea. They LIVE for what they call opportunities to "pushback" but what I and others who might have similar nonconforming ideas would call ad hominem attacks.
