"Fight" is the equivalent of buying all of the toilet paper (F*ck every one else!). "Flight" is leaving an infested area in hopes of escaping, in spite of the certainty of already being infected.
Intelligence is calmly realizing that your chances of survival are very good, even if your chances of infection are nearly 100%, and that you will probably be just fine, and you will not be alone in the process of recovery.
Because I am aware that I will probably be infected, I will not hesitate to help anyone who is also infected. Any intelligent, non-self-centered person will do the same. (Quarantines will not work very well with this one.)

i found out the last couple years that fight /flight/freeze is the triangle of fear response. i didn't know that until my forties. i i have a panic syndrome and and have experienced life fearing panic hundreds of times. i am very intune with this aspect of my primeval being... the sleeping beast in my closet so to speak.
i had to develop the freeze response in me. but it is not trembling in terror, for me, so much. or really so often, but more of fight flight pause, where when i touch off on the primal trigger, i take a deep breathe or few, do a brief stretch routine and write down the first thought on paper that comes to mind. there are usually hundreds going on at that time.
anywaythanks for your post. i got hooked into the fight or flight thing and ended up dropping a personal anecdote.
