I just read the part about health care. Maxime starts out by discussing issues and how he would deal with the issues, nowhere does he talk about the problem with health care, that there are too many sick people, or what he would do about it.

I have heard Maxime talk and it seems to me that Maxime is guilty of what I have been accused of: thinking out loud a lot. It's not surprising because many who are trying to get traction on moving the cultural thinking away from suicide, are working from scratch and need to think out loud. What used to be common sense, has been replaced with centrally controlled common practice bit by bit until we forgot why we need to always keep in our hearts the wisdom of the old. I think the PPC needs a purpose based on a goal that is at least thirty years ahead. It would help them focus their thoughts and energies.

Can Maxime Bernier appeal to Western Canada and not so much Quebec?

The Peoples Party of Canada need a goal, a way to focus their thoughts and actions in a moral and ethical way in order to improve their lives and the lives of others at the same time. A goal helps us guide our efforts towards fulfilling a purpose, a purpose that by the classic definition can never be a materialistic endeavor. My suggestion for a goal is greater freedom and liberty. Any action or proposed legislation would have to first pass the test of giving greater freedom and liberty to citizens.

I believe that what Canadians and citizens of most of the Western countries have generally lost over the last fifty years is freedom and liberty. If those two things were the goal, the purpose, of creating a new party in Canada would be self evident. It would make Maxime look transparent. However, it is not so easy to explain to people who don't want to deal with problems, who are focused on immediate resolution of issues.

I am a Canadian, not even close to understanding what was going through the minds of the men like Jefferson, where did they received the creativity that caused them to create the United States of America? I humbly offer my outside view: I believe the founders were different than others, they had a purpose because they had a goal, Adams hoped their goal of freedom and liberty would last for 150 years. There has been a lot of mission creep over the last hundred years or more in the land of liberty and freedom, to a land where the family has become nationalized. Instead of defining the energy consumption of a refrigerator to include it’s entire life cycle, beginning to end, it is limited only to, it’s electrical energy consumption, how many watts it consumes per year. To maintain the energy consumption rules set by government on our behalf, the motors are smaller and burn out sooner. Socialist thinking has caused major appliances in our homes ending up lasting ten years on average, a third as long as they did thirty years ago. That this allows the selling of three times the number of washing machines, cardboard boxes and delivery truck jobs, not to forget financing, is great if you are a socialist, it’s all good. Promised jobs and growth in the economy. The new green deal is the same as the old one.
