The 5 C's of the Trusted Net
I want to create civilization on the internet, I have some ideas about how to do that. It has to be extralegal. Within the law, but unbounded by it, any law will be a subset of this.
It has to happen, the sooner the better.
Free speech has no value per se.
You can only have value where there is cost.
There is no inherent value in the speech itself, only that it be allowed.
On the internet, the cost to speak approaches zero.
The only threats are censorship or malicious manipulation.
Whatever quality is valued will determine the value of the speech.
There are only 5 actions possible on the net:
Create : Free Speech
Consume : Free Thought
Copy : Free Exchange
Change : Consume + Create (for better or worse)
Censor : Destroy, amoral power.
