GUILT FOR SOMETHING YOU THINK YOU DID

The margins of racism are becoming thinner every day. In the past it was more overt and obvious. It was clear to see and clear to hear. They were clear because they involved actionable offenses that were not subjective. It took effort to be racist in America and those that were did not apologize for it. The racists of the past were rarely dismayed as it was part of their belief system. We are now told that these racial actions do not exist in the same way, but they have morphed into a form of pseudo-racism and micro-aggressions.

The social justice ideology says that these people know how socially unacceptable overt racism is, so they like to mask it in other ways that is less distinguishable. They like to use coded language like a spy and hide their true meanings in an undisclosed location. The right-wing dog whistle terms can only be heard by them and not by the good people on the left. Only the most intelligent and diligent can determine what is now racist, so be sure to follow them on Twitter for their newest racism updates.

In a matter of time, you start to realize that everything you knew about is racist. Surely someone will point out that you are racist, even if you do not think you are. The weak ones that buy into this notion that they are racists will be riddled with guilt of not recognizing this earlier. They start to censor their thought process. They bend over backwards to make sure that they do not offend someone of a darker pigmentation. These once colorblind people are now overtly colorizing the world around them. The once normal unsuspecting white American is now an activated white ally.

They think they did something wrong because they were told they did something wrong, but no one questions the source. If I can convince you that the most minor of statements or actions is somehow racist, I have now won the battle of your mind. I have now made you believe what I want you to believe because it is powerful to alter the reactions of strangers all with a single loaded word; racist. It is an accusation that runs deep and there are those who are attempting to manipulate a race of people into believing that they have always been racist, they just did not know it. The scholars of the past are now racists. The lack of black nominations at the Oscars is racist. If a service worker is rude to a black person, it is because they are racist. That edgy comedian you liked; they are racist. Even a viral pandemic is racist because it kills a higher percentage of blacks in America. Everything you thought you knew was false but do not worry, they are here to show you their truth; not the true.

The truth is that you are likely not racist. The fact that you care enough to know if you are a racist is a good indicator that you are not one. Racists know what they are, they do not need a therapist to dig deep into their consciousness for the results. At most, there are well intentioned people who are slightly racially insensitive but being a racist means, you perceive yourself as racially superior. Microaggressions are an explanation for slights that the most sensitive of us feel. They are the social justice warriors attempt to coddle the mind of the most fragile among us with racial translations so they can fall further into their victimhood.

Well said! I don't think we can ever rid the world of racism. Some people are racist, some people aren't and I don't think we can or if we should even bother trying to change it. As long as the system everyone has to live under isn't racist, then everyone should be able to get on with their lives.

I believe the only thing that matters is that the laws are equal. Now that the laws are equal, the movement behind social justice look for other things to fight. When you have to dissect something to find racism, it's not there.

Such a good explanation! Well done!

Thank you

Maybe it's because I'm older but I think racism remains a significant problem.

What I don't believe is that ending racism will significantly improve the lives of minorities.

Ending racism leaves the problem of class division, the difference between a serf and a slave is in that one is easier to identify and more difficult to escape if slavery is racially based.

The left's real failure is in not recognizing that ending serfdom or slavery as an institution didn't raise people above being slaves to their passions. This was where religion once served society it may have served to keep them physically enslaved but it freed them of the burden of slavery.

Philosophically organized religion is the denouncement of passions or vices.

The 10 Commandments of Buddhism are :

Do not destroy life.

Do not take what is not given you.

Do not commit adultery.

Tell no lies and deceive no one.

Do not become intoxicated.

Eat temperately and not at all in the afternoons.

Do not watch dancing, nor listen to singing or plays.

Wear no garlands, perfumes or any adornments.

Sleep not in luxurious beds.

Accept no gold or silver.

Where religion goes wrong is that to some extent they are all eschatological and impractical.

Clearly the social justice movement is a new religion. It emerged out of humanism and it's God was reason. When reason failed it turned to faith. Faith in the misguided idea that ending social injustice would end human misery. The idea that misery was self inflicted is something they could have learned from Buddhism. As it turns out you can't reason your way out of misery. Eliminating misery often means discipline and patience. The virtues of faith, hope and charity are helpful as well. If we were rational beings it might be otherwise but we are trapped in our instincts in ways the humanists refuse to acknowledge.

Another lesson the social justice movement could have learned from religion is to forgive your enemies. Again if we were rational beings this precept would be ludicrous.

I don't think that it is a coincidence that Martin Luther King was a preacher. I also don't think it is a coincidence that he was more successful than the radicals from the 60s.

I'm not a believer myself but I do share with Jordan Peterson the intuition that religion is a coevolved system. If we don't address our instincts are attempts at social justice will fail.

Please define the racism that you think remains a significant problem? I don't disagree, necessarily, but I'd appreciate clarification.

@govols

I guess it comes down to frequency. We all suffer from what could be described as micro aggressions and unconscious bias. Perhaps someone doesn't like the way you look or slights you in some little way. I suspect that it happens more frequently to minorities. I'm not ignoring that minorities are hypersensitive, which is perhaps why Black people talk about being disrespected so often even if it isn't race related. I don't have any evidence to support my assumption and don't care to look for research. All I know is that people that I know who were fairly racist 40 years ago are no longer as open about it. I seriously doubt they have changed this one aspect of their personality while maintaining every other aspect.

Even in science there is a saying attributed to Plank "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die".

@wolfhnd, frequency and/or intensity, maybe?

@wolfhnd I can respect your opinion. Personally, I think that if you hold a powerful position and you think in this manner, that's where it is an issue. The average person, I don't care what is rolling around in their head. I'm more of the libertarian mindset, stay out of my way, I stay out of your way.

The problem with cultural ideologues is that they want to change the way you think and live your life forcefully.

Well put sir.

Thank you

True. And what makes it overwhelmingly unbearable is the one sided nature of it. That is, it's only whites who are the perpetrators, and blacks are the victims.

Literally no racially motivated atrocity against a white person would be racist in their book.

Lt-JW Level 8 June 22, 2020

This is why they do things like change the definition of racism. Anything done against whites is...correction. We have moved past being humanists and back to our racial sidelines.

@BlackoutNJ you can't really win an argument with people who set the terms of argument to 'either agree with us or you're racist'

@Lt-JW It's not about discussion at that point. It's like that with any other ideology, they aren't open to discussion.

@BlackoutNJ yep, it's pure dogma
