Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The Media in America has become nothing more than a tabloid, filled with drama, mis-information, and whatever they can publish, record or print to get an "emotional" response. It's as if this is some last ditch effort to retain viewers and (in the case of print, readers). Maybe in this digital age of social media, and with more people "cutting" cable cords, they are trying to find a way to stay relevant. Could it be they think that bad press is better than no press?

The short answer is that journalism has been replaced by activism.
The end of the free press accelerated with the departure of Walter Cronkite in 1981. Cronkite, known as the most trusted man in America once said, “I am a news presenter, a news broadcaster, an anchorman, a managing editor not a commentator or analyst, I feel no compulsion to be a pundit.” However, even he advocated for an end to the Viet Nam war after reporting from the combat zone in 1968.
By 2004, there was no turning back when Cronkite’s successor, Dan Rather, was fired from CBS for his fake news reporting on President George W Bush.
Today, the once rock solid US press, whose watchdog role is crucial to democracy, has devolved into an Al-Jazerra style free for all that’s constantly on the lookout for signs of American decay. No flaw is too small to report. And when they find no flaws — as in the case of the Covington kids — they invent them.
The news today follows a woke narrative and reports mainly on the themes of racism, sexism, and the environment. For the past four years it’s served up a daily attack on Donald Trump.
Nick Sandman’s decision to fight back with a series lawsuits, is proving that the legacy media is still somewhat accountable. However, as more and more people get their news from unvetted, anonymous online sources, the confusion, division and leftist propaganda will only increase.

Forty years ago the New York Times was a liberal newspaper with decent fact checking and journalistic standards. I trusted their international reporting. They have descended into a propaganda rag. If I read them I have to analyse them like I would Pravda or Tass.
So many news outlets have gone down that path. It's hard to find reliable news now.
