I will say that there have been very few presidents, and presidential candidates that I feel have had any real respect for members, and veterans of our military branches. This includes George W. Bush. I can't say any democrat has struck me as one who had any kind of respect except for maybe Carter, and the is said with some reservations because I was just a kid during his time in office and have not done any real research about the man. Kennedy would be the one democrat since I was born I would say without a doubt respected those who have served in the military.

But for anyone to believe this about Trump I would say they are just saying so for one of two reasons, they are on the anti Trump squad and will say any ridiculous thing they can with hopes of discrediting the man and simply bolstering their own anti Trump beliefs, or they are simply deluded. I do believe Trump understands better than most the, almost in a literal sense, he dodged by not serving in the military. Now why he did not serve I have no idea. Was he 4F? Did his father, or he pull strings, and grease palms so that he was never called up for a draft? I don't know. He was certainly of age during the Vietnam Conflict.

In some ways I think we might better be served by a Commander in Chief that has served, but I also see an advantage of having one that has not. Like most things it all comes down to the individual. If someone is going to make allegations like this they need to have sources and witnesses that are willing to stand up and say their piece in front of God and country. If they do not have this, nothing more than, "I know this guy who knows a guy that said he heard...." Those type of people in situations like this need to keep their damned mouths shut. Nothing I am aware of with Trump would indicate he would ever say something like this, and after that forced tape recording conversation from 15-20 years ago that had all the pink hat fruitcakes up in arms he is definitely smart enough not to be saying off the cuff things like this right now. But then the democrats and their republicans allies have thrown away any thought to trying to appear reasonable and rational when it comes to Trump.
