It is congress that has the power to declare war, but the president has the power to respond to an enemy who fires the first shot. I believe this is what happened in the original civil war.
Violence perpetrated by Redneck Rebellion, or any other openly Marxist group, could be interpreted as an act of civil war, and the military could be called in to eliminate them.
Does anyone see any flaws in this reasoning?

There is an Insurrection Act that allows the president to use military forces to put down an insurrection. I suspect that President Trump may well invoke it if he is re-elected, and I think he should. When you have groups like Antifa and BLM actively chanting "death to America" and openly stating that they want to destroy our political system, then "insurrection" certainly seems to describe them pretty well. They can only force it when we give up and decide it's easier to accept than to fight. Just remember before giving up the fight that there are no voices left to save the children if we give up.
@Dmwils Trouble is it is creeping Socialism. People are lazy especially after intergenerational pot use and want free stuff.
And, they call Trump divisive. That's all the Democrats have been doing for four years is divide, divide, divide. They just didn't get to the conquer bit until midway through this year. The claws are out and they're trying their damnedest to retain power through any means necessary. They're terrified. They're panicking. They've never spewed such rabid vitriol before against any president. There's something about Trump that has them in fear, and it isn't because they're such good patriots. Not a single one of them gives a single damn about the United States of America, or else they'd have fixed the problems that needed fixing their entire tenure as senators and congressmen. All one needs do is look at the districts they represent, and one would know all they need to know about the Democrats plan.
