That’s a subject open for debate. The numbers paint one picture; the ginned up panic that crashed the economy is quite different. The media conflates both topics as though there are no questions left to be resolved. The left is fond of shutting down debate with the “settled science” claim, which is as laughable as anything they’ve ever put forth. Science is never settled. That’s the whole point of science. It’s an ongoing inquiry. Only political ideology is settled.

@Edgework No debate... it is by any definition of the word a Pandemic... honestly. How your country deals with it is a solution or a problem and there are no easy answers since this virus kills people and people don't usually want to die.

Because under the same rubric one could say the world getting the flu, which helps to kill old and sick people every year, or colds we all suffer every year, is a world wide pandemic. The Kill rate, is the only thing that counts in the practical world. The rest of the fearful, can stop the world, but they still can not get off!

@Lightman, It was the, hell of a stretch in their definitions of "Death by". We even have an entire book of jokes of people falling off ladders, and their death being declared "Covid". Read a bit deeper into the science? of statistics, and the different hospital's reports on their changing definition, of "Death by". Also their is controversy over the tests being used, as giving too many false positives! This is not a clear story, because a lot of people have a stake in saying they made the right call. And then there is China, and it's weird and contradictory behavior. I consider it a covert war, but that is me. Wish you luck, in trying to find the truth, when every one is trying to hide it! We are on our own. Our Nobel Leaders, are a bunch of hacks, and have let us down, big time!

@Lightman A core morbidity means they will die of these diseases. The virus may cut the time for death, not death itself! A quibble, that changes the stats. If you like a higher number, you go with your interpretation. I million, sounds so Scary!!! Glass one half empty, guy, are you?
