Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Mike Glover of Fieldcraft Survival and American Contingency about the importance of building communities around survival skills and self reliance. Mike served as Green Beret and a member of the special forces, now he tries to use his knowledge to teach other preppers in his community the importance of prepping for situations and disasters where you can’t rely on the police to come to your aid. He cites the alarming data out of Portland of cops being so stretched thin that they were unable to respond to many calls involving criminal acts. Due to the nature of his work Mike’s social media accounts on big tech platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have all been subject to content creator censorship. He discusses the security his community now has by building an online home at Locals.com.

If a mob invades the neighborhood, deploy lots of cameras and loudly live stream it.
Build a web page with discussion forums whose goal is identifying the mobsters. Loudly proclaim the identities of the mobsters. Have all the local militia show up as fast as minutemen and form a gun-toting defensive phalanx. Pose and look cool to make a glorious meme.
If you report an attack to the police and they don't respond, that's very very bad.
It means police have institutionalized the ability to choose who to defend and who
not to, and they will invariably chose to not defend conservatives. Mobs will realize this
and be emboldened. If the police fail to respond to an attack, go nuclear with outrage.
Declare that the city has failed. The ability to enforce order should be the city's top priority. Make a list of cities that fail in this.
IDW is a fine platform, partly because it's small and well moderated.
What are some other nice platforms?
Would love to see podcasts on what Western Culture is.
It needs to be respected as a culture, and a successful one.

We need to support independent platforms and content creators to create some kind of counter movement to big tech monopoly and abuse of power.
American Contingency (the reason he was targeted) is really trying to move in the direction of being as disconnected as possible from the hydra.

I'm thinking about setting up business there as well. These smaller platforms are critical for ordinary people fighting big tech monopoly without censorship. Kind of like Slug.
@pigfarmer Sure I will, thank you. I will announce it here on the Slug probably, make a group about it as well. I love that about slug, groups, so any interest can be supported.
I'm working on starting a podcast where I can share historic insights about our Western Culture. There is a lot of he said, she said type of social commentary, but not much insights into present by observing the past and learning from the lessons for the past. Or various political and social terminology we take for granted today in our daily conversations, but most never really try to investigate what the terms mean or where they come from, and as a result instead of having productive meaningful conversation lot of it is noisy and back and forth accusations. I would like to provide deeper insights into that. Even something simple like left and right politics is distorted, democracy, etc. What do those terms mean and where they came from, how they were formed and how they were distorted. Basically provide a more birds eye view of commentary cultural and political issues we see every day.
