You know im glad for women that they have the 1st women VP but when thinking about it, 1. if its so great where was the excitement for Palin? 2. what is so exciting about being handed a job because of the color of your skin and sex? Biden even said he was specifically looking for that not that he was looking for the best person for the job. if you want to be happy the glass ceiling was broken wouldn’t you rather it be on your terms not someone else’s? 3. She called her running mate a racist and pedophile in debates along with a fair number if other harsh claims and smears. now i get it, there are certain things you say about your opponents (not that you should) but like she accused him of actual crimes. Now so did Trump and Hilary but neither went on to run alongside the other. and when asked she said it’s what you donin debates. but given that she is now his VP that tells you alot. Either its true and she doesn’t care or she’s willing to lie about some pretty serious things to get where she wants and if she’s willing to make uo lies like that to get ahead then what else? this is really the woman we are proud of and championing our girls to look up to?

The "simple" answer is that progressives keep pushing critical theory, which dictates that we are all members of social groups - groups based on race, sex, sexual identity, sexual orientation, etc etc etc - and that what groups you belong to matter more than ANYTHING in the oppression Olympics. The more "marginalized groups" you belong to, the higher your victim score, and the more worthy you are of being placed on a high pedestal. Conversely, the more "oppressor groups" you belong to means that people should not even consider urinating on you if you were on fire.
No, I don't understand it either. But to the progressive SJWs demanding inclusivity and equity, it's the only thing that seems to matter. Not what you say. Not what you do. Not even where you came from or what obstacles you had to overcome. Just your groups. To them, Oprah Winfrey is more of an oppressed victim requiring society's intercession than a homeless white man living on the streets.

Oh, and another thing...just in case folks don't realize the connection, "oppressor group" and "marginalized group" are really just stand-ins for "bourgeoise" and "proletariat." That is, critical theory is just another implementation of Marxism, with a fresh coat of paint.

When they get done tallying up and rank-ordering all the possible ways to categorize people by their myriad weighted-classifications; they will eventually arrive at the inevitable conclusion that Western Civilization realized a couple hundred years ago, after centuries of cultural evolution.
That is: everyone is rife with advantages/disadvantages, strengths/weaknesses, abilities/needs, claims/blames, etc.
...and it all boils down finally to the ultimate group that deserves their rights protected above all others, and the size of that group is 1: the Individual.
Next time someone says: "Men can't handle a woman in power", just say
