Hypocritical to be instantly triggered by racial BS while ignoring the deeper context of what she said...this proving her point perfectly.

As I've said elsewhere, I agree with Gina and do not for a moment consider what she said to be either anti-Semitic or comparing what conservatives are dealing with to what Jews had to deal with in the Holocaust, as some media outlets are falsely characterizing.

Rather, I think she's making a point about vilifying people based on their differing beliefs leading to no good outcomes. And I think it's disgusting how her words are being twisted into a narrative to justify her firing by the very same people who started bullying her on Twitter to begin with.

But having said that? Disney had every right to fire her.

She was a public-facing employee who was not representing the company the way it wanted, and she'd already received several warnings. And that's really all there is to it. If you sincerely think that the NFL doesn't owe Colin Kaepernick a job(1) you cannot argue that Disney has no right to fire Gina.

If you're going to get upset at Disney, get upset over their refusal to acknowledge the Uygher Muslims in concentration camps, not far from where Disney filmed the live action Mulan. If you're going to get upset at Disney, get upset over them minimizing John Boyega - the black actor playing Finn in the latest Star Wars trilogy - in order to please Chinese audiences, who are very anti-black. Or for refusing to acknowledge James Earl Jones' birthday - simply because he's a black conservative - while acknowledging Laura Dern's, and then the following day praise MLK and talk about how racism is bad. Be angry at Disney for giving their executives pay raises while laying off tens of thousands of workers from their theme parks.

But don't be angry at Disney because Gina decided "damn the torpedoes;" that was her call. And frankly, Disney will lose money it would've gained through her spin-off series and merch, so it's going to hurt them worse than it'll hurt her.

(1) With the reminder that the blackball narrative is complete bunk, given that A) Kaep never recovered from his shoulder injury, finishing his final two years in the lower third of starting QBs; B) voided the last year of his own contract; C) refused offers to be a backup in Baltimore and Seattle; and D) has made more money from his activism than he likely would've made from the rest of his career in the NFL (with a lot less pain and wear on his body to deal with).
