Many prophecy buffs say the mess will be coming from Russia. They've probably not figured out Rev 17:10-11 where the 7th empire that plucked the Eastern leg of the Roman empire (the Byzantine empire) were the Ottomans, and the passage seem to indicate that this 7th empire is going to be revived as the 8th. And we're now seeing jihadists everywhere working hard to revive the caliphate. It now makes its own fighter jets, drones, tanks, attack helicopters, missiles, subs and warships. It is also now in negotiations with the Pakistanis for thermo-nuclear technology. And It now has an army bigger than France's, Germany's and the UK's combined. Turkey is not your friend.

Having large numbers isn't necessarily going to ensure a win. Same with tech.
There are many countries in Europe (not just the main western ones) who will put up a solid fight.
If we have to, we will bring the winged Hussars back out of retirement 
@Tom81 we read that the revived caliphate will not last long. But their defeat will not be the end of the bad news, because those who defeat it will also be turning on each other (the allegorical 2nd horseman of the Apocalypse of Rev 6:4). "The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light" sounds like some kind of nuclear winter to me. This is why we have Matt 24:22.
