Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.It's almost as if when you are freed from most physical dangers there is a proportional decline in respect, gratitude and empathy for those who make that possible. It's not just women but the petite nobility in general. When you have privilege you don't earn through your own blood, sweat and tears it is human nature to discount those privileges and exaggerate your own contribution. To think of modern women and the professional class in general as anything other than privileged displays a lack of historical reference. Civilization is built on dirty jobs but people confuse the accoutrements for a cause.
Most dirty jobs are less dirty than they were in the past and I'm not discounting the importance of management but if the process continues management itself is starting to become an underappreciated dirty job. The unpleasant aspects of it more and more neglected. Competent managers increasingly rare. Civilization does not run on empathy but politeness. Politeness relies on respect and gratitude along with a strange sort of artificial empathy that is cultural not instinctual.
