Herding sheep (people) is done by the tried and true carrot & stick method. Contrived hysterics are the ‘carrot’ & government imposed penalties for non-compliance is the ‘stick.’
Setting out to show how ridiculous the (carrot) hysterics actually are would be more than likely a futile exercise given the massive propaganda machine that’s at work to manufacture it it behooves me to approach the energy question differently – energy being the propagandized cause of this manufacture climate (carrot) hysteria. And no, I’m not saying climate isn’t changing because it does change just like it ALWAYS HAS CHANGED – otherwise there wouldn’t have been multiple ‘Ice Ages’ in earth’s history. What do you suppose caused those Ice Ages?
No, I’d like to posit an observation for your contemplation. That very simple observation is: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES – NONE! THERE’S ONLY RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES TO BE HAD. The proof is right there in Einstein’s famous equation – that’s what his equation is all about. What I’m trying to point out is how utterly stupid the term “Renewable Energy” as if there’s anything other than renewable energy. The only variable is how to extract that renewable energy – that’s all.
For instance, coal is a renewable energy source & America is setting on 300 years worth of it that needs to be used – cleanly of course. I can hear it now, CLIMATE DENIER. No, climate is going to change regardless of anything humankind can or even should do about it.
Facing the fact that we humans are on a joy ride on a big blue convulsing contorting mass hurtling through space at 67K miles per hour (or there about) is difficult for the timid – I’m sure?
The only conceivable motivation for all these manufactured hysterics is to frighten sheeples into surrendering their liberty to whatever promises them impossible security - like power hungry socialism does.
PS. There are several of these manufactured hysterics deployed right now – not just climate change. And they’re working – just how free do you feel, say from just two years ago?

I just wanted to add that the whole "humans play a part" debate is something I also never hear anyone who's labeled a "climate denier" say. Of course humans play a part in effecting the planet. It's just how much is more the argument.
Without many of the environmental actions to prevent pollution, we'd decidedly be a much unhealthier people as well as planet. However, even at the peak levels of pollution, the earth is still on its own course that can be argued we can do little to change.
Personally, I think we've done quite a bit positively to help our environment. I think things like regulating factories so they aren't dumping waste into the water, recycling projects that clean up landfills, and other immediate change type programs are laudable as well as extremely beneficial to communities health as well as the planets. I have a great deal of respect for those who do the work to better toxic environments.
However, cancelling entire energy means like coal and oil in order to replace them with theoretical sources that have been shown to be just as damaging to our planet, (just in a different way), as well as not as effective, is only creating environmental problems that didn't exist before, (as well as creates financial problems for those now out of a job, and the governments who must shift fantastical amounts of taxpayers money to fund the new projects)

Pushing a boulder up a hill is gravitational potential, the futher up the hill you push it, the more kinetic energy you store energy in the boulder. Kinetic energy is released as it rolls down the hill back to the theoretical position it was originally in, in can’t generally get back to its original position because some energy will be lost in the inefficient process. The sum of these energies is called mechanical energy.
I had people on Slug telling me that pumping water up a hill was a means of storing energy!
Utter nonsense, it’s a complete waste of energy and environmentally stupid!
Now to the subject.
With Biden in power everything becomes a pile of mushy turds!

I can see pumping water uphill during a time of excess energy and releasing it into a penstock to create energy during low energy times. This would be just a storage battery like a hydro-dam. We even have a small power producer in Alberta that uses diesel generators. He only turns them on when reduced production or over-consumption pushes the market price of electricity up. It's just playing the distribution grid.
@WayneHawthorne Might as well just fire up the generators when required. Single cost.
All this other infrastructure to pump and hide after dark is essentially just pushing the cost of energy up and the consumer pays for the inefficiencies.
It’s part of the leftist inability to think in a straight line. Sorry straight is a politically loaded word.
It's the same game as always. Keep the fear in people to keep them in place. We've been playing this game since the dawn of time. Can we ever break this cycle?
