'Deplorable' professor creates 'anti-indoctrination mill' with new education startup
Michael Rectenwald riled NYU with his tweets. Now he's recruiting academics to teach courses that push back on critical race theory.

”He even identifies as a communist, but the reaction to his tweets ‘proves that everything else that I said [about the Left in general] was true — that they are like a mob or a witch hunt or a witch trial and that they just shut down all views that aren’t sanctioned by them.”’
”Other professors are privately supporting him but are afraid to tell the administration because of ‘the precedent set’ by Rectenwald going on paid leave, he said.”

Universities used to boast about how tough they were. U. Chicago used to be tough and now it's soft. Some of the last tough universities remaining are Caltech and MIT.
It used to be that the path to success was to study hard at a tough university, and then your skill set you apart from others in the professional world. Today, advancement in the professional world has nothing to do with skill, and so universities went soft. We need to reset the professional world.
The STEM departments of universities should secede from the university and establish an Institute of Technology. Ditch the deadweight humanities departments. It used to be that a degree in engineering got you further than a degree in gender studies, and now it's the other way around.

I am terrified what is happening to STEM. There are few enough going into those fields without making it harder on people.
